I will sue you if I find out you used this for personal non-profit work! :guffaw:

This is really easy to do, the checker board is spaced for each individual tile.

I personally recommend using Paint.net for Windows because it is free and very easy to navigate for a free program with a lot of options.

Steps:

1: "Save As" A1_... or whatever you are going to use it for! (Make copies so you don't have to keep downloading them)

2: select your tile you want to insert into your special section on your Tileset Template!

3: Magic Wand the area where you want it!

4: Delete that section on the template.

5: Paste your tile!

6: Save into your Tileset folder!

I have also included a Single Tile:

1: "Save As" whatever you are going to use it as (Make copies so you don't have to keep downloading them)

2: Edit how you please!

3: "Save As" something else so you don't have to keep downloading it!

All Tileset files have letters, (A's have #'s behind them to indicate which section they are sized for, some work for multiple sections like "B_C_")

If you do use these please share where you got them so others may enjoy & contribute to our community, I realize it isn't that much work, merely time consuming but I did it for you guys out of the bottomless fury of my hollowed out heart  :rock-left:   D:<   :rock-right:  .

Edit- The 32x32 template is to the Left of the left-most visible one you can see, you have to scroll over it to see it, right click, "Save As"! If you can't find it, try clicking and dragging to highlight the area, this was the easiest way for you guys to just get into creating things that is why it is invisible!

Unfortunately, those empty templates will be of little use, because they're missing vital information...

There are six different formats for tilesheets in Ace (one format each for A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 and one for B to E sheets.

Those tilesheets are not only different in their pixel sizes, but also in the placement grid for autotiles - depending on which slot the tilesheet is intended for, there are different placement positions for the 64x96 pixel regular autotiles, for the 192x96 pixel animated autotiles, for the 64x64 wall autotiles and 32x32 regular tiles. Some of these different tile sizes are usable only on specific sheets as well.

If you don't have much experience with tilesheet creation, it's usually easier to use the resource manager to export an existing tilesheet in the correct format, and then replace the tiles on the positions you can see instead of trying to remember which size and type of tile goes to which position on empty sheets...

If you scroll over them they will say a letter (and number combo for A) with an _ right after it, if there are any more letter & _ after the first those can be used for those slots as well, it is true that not everyone can use these but if you see something you like you can try to mimic it and figure out what works best for your game, I'd personally use these in a "multi-layer" picture (when editing) to see where everything is underneath it to get the best results when you design your own tilesets.

No. they can't - A1 and A2 are different formats, because the format is not only the size of the picture, but also the positioning and (different) size for the tiles.

If you had made those "templates" with a true raster dependend on tilesize instead of a general 32x32 grid, then they would have been usable - but in their current form, the user can't know where on the template to place which autotile.

And the simple 32x32 grid doesn't need a template - for that, it's better to use the build-in grid functions of image programs.

Well then, please lock this thread. Also I spent 3 years in Germany, it is a very wonderful and nice country... the people are very polite and I like the art and culture exhibits.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
