Hi guys!

I am currently taking a graduate game design course and we are using rpgmaker mv. Everything has been going fine, except now I am missing a huge amount of icons and tile sets including people! I have attached screenshots of how it used to look and what it looks like now. Anybody have any advice? Kind of lost of where to go now. Thank you!Screen Shot 2021-10-24 at 1.31.30 PM.pngScreen Shot 2021-10-24 at 1.31.05 PM.png

Are the files still located in your folders?

most common cause is that you moved the project folder into a path that does not follow networking rules. This will cause "failed to load" and missing resources, the entire project path (including upper folders from the drive letter on) has to follow networking / HTML5-rules.

second probable cause is the files getting deleted for one reason or another, like a failed cloudsync if your school saves/backups their harddrives in the wrong way.

there are a few other possibilities, but check those first as they are rather unlikely.

Yes, I have two saves. One was very early in the game and I am comparing it to the images I have now in my latest save. They look identical. I'm at a loss :( Here are the screenshots.
They are identical. Any thoughts? :/

Have you moved your project to a different location on your computer? As Andar said, if you have moved your project folder into a path that does not follow networking rules that will cause problems.

please give us the full path where the project with the problem is stored, from drive letter to folder name.
something like
c:\folder1\folder2\feolder3\projectname\img

then we can check your true foldernames (no censoring please) for several possible mistakes or problems.

Sorry about the wait. I was on a video chat with my professor for the past hour or so. We have found no solution to fixing it on my mac. The pathway is "games", "Version 5" , then all the different folders such as data, img, game.rpgproject, etc.

The funny thing is that when my professor opened my game on his end, he had no problems. He is working on a PC and I think I'm just going to move everything onto my brother's PC computer and see if that works.

that is wrong, I even gave an example how the path has to look - at minimum your path is missing the drive letter.
But it also contains at least one error:
"Version 5"

HTML-Based path should NOT contain spaces, because the browsers can't handle them natively (why do you think spaces get replaced with %20 in browser error messages?) and the Windows-Override that tries to force them is not stable.

Please rename the folder to version_5 or something like that, without spaces or special signs in the foldername.
And it might be depending on the editor version because I know that some MV-versions tried to force you to clear your foldernames of illegal letters by not accepting any resource as soon as a space or another forbidden letter is in the folderpath.

If this is not enough to find all mistakes in the folderpath, please try again in the correct path - you even get that path in the properties of the folder...

What started as 1 RPG in development on the Nintendo DS, turned into 4 RPGs in development (1 on VX and 3 on VX Ace). Wish me luck.
