I got RPG Maker XP recently and I was so excited to make on it!But then,I found my money to be wasted.

The tilesets. When you place them on the map, there is a white background around it and black background when you see it in game.

When I got it,I thought though it had a white background,it was probably transparent for RMXP.

But I was wrong

It's ruining my game and it need to get fixed!

Please help!

RMXP mapping is different from other makers. It uses a 3 layers system where you can place objects on any of those layers.

You cant place objects ove another on the same layer,

On your case, you seems to be placing both the floor and the trees on the same layer. Place the floor on the lower layer, and the trees on a upper layer.

I've moved this thread to XP Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Tech-Support is for getting the editors to run, not for help in development a game.

As Victor said, XP has manual layer mapping - you need to manually select the layer where the tile is placed or it will replace an older tile on the same layer.

That is more work when mapping (and probably one reason why all later makers use autolayering instead of manual layering), but also the reason why some users like the XP-Mapping better than the later mapping types, even if XP-Mapping is more work for the developer.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
