Time Crisis type play in RPG Maker MV

With some recent plug-ins coming from Yanfly, I had an idea about a RPG Maker (Using MV) that I might be curious about making. It concerns making a combination of a Zelda-like game with a clicker-like shooter game.

The basic premise is that you move your character around with the directional keys, using whatever action button requied and all that. But instead of standard combat, the main character has a gun, and you can aim that gun with your mouse on the screen and shoot at bad guys by clicking. There will of course be obstacles and safe spaces where you can hide and reload your gun (Much like in Time Crisis) which can easily be done with region IDs.

But what about the shooting at bad guys with the mouse thing? Is there anyone who tried that already?

It would require some rewriting of the code base, as clicking anywhere causes you to move to that location by default, you would need 8 way movement as well. To be honest, it may just be more practical overall to use GameMaker, or PixelGameMakerMV etc to implement this kind of game, usually called a 'twin stick shooter' Nuclear Throne would be an example of what kind of game I think your talking about game-play wise. Layering RPG systems on top of those engines I think would be more manageable than laying twinstickshooter mechanics into MV. Though as always I could be wrong, if someone has a way to do this in MV please share~

I once made a shooting game on Ace, but it uses action buttons to shoot because Ace has no mouse by default... XD

Yeah. I was thinking that MV might gain that because it includes mouse support.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
