Timer during dialogue?

I'm trying to make it so while there's dialogue open, as a timer is running, after however much time passes, more images slowly appear, and if it goes on for too long, it alternates into a separate line of dialogue which leads to a game over. The dialogue seems to override everything though so is there a script I need to get the effect I want?

I think this can be done in the Editor without a script. If, however, that is not the case please Report this post and ask for it to be moved.

So to turn the script on, you leave it on 1 and to turn it off you put in ON?
You can set the switch ID in line 28 of the script, but basically yes. Switch on = script's off.
I recommend you to block player movement somehow when leaving it on, although I'm not sure it's necessary if you are running the event on Autorun :p
You can make a Parallel Process that adds +1 to a variable every 60 frames, so you can check how much time has passed since the timer was on and then call a blank message that closes itself immediately and then pull the game over.

Am I doing something wrong? Because when I test it, literally nothing happens.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
