RPG Maker Forums

This does not appear to be a script related issue, which is why I'm posting in the general support forum.

this is a problem I've been trying to sort for the last couple of months but which appears to be going nowhere.  Here are the details.

Using Shaz's multi-fog script, I am showing a greyish tinted fog graphic.  At the beginning everything is as I would expect it to be.  I can change maps and there is no alteration in the appearance.  However, irrespective of which map I am on, if I use the menu when I return to the map view the greyish tint has gone and the map now appears not just bright as in the editor, but actually bleached in that the pink sand now looks almost white.  The same thing happens if there is a battle, I assume that's because of going into battle menus etc.

I have tried tinting the fog and/or tinting the screen.  this makes everything darker and again I can change maps, but again as soon as I use the menu, I end up with the bleached appearance.  Here are screen shots showing the difference before using the menu and after using it.

Any suggestions as to what is going on would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
