Hello all!

I am new to RPG maker and was hoping for some advice, I have been playing around with it for a while and now understand how to use events etc.. however, I want to make a night time map and I have found you can do this using the screen tint event but that only activates when the character walks onto a tile. I was wondering how you make an event work as soon as the map loads meaning the player does not have to walk on a tile for the event to take place (it just happens right away).

Thanks in advance!

Have an event on the page that is set to Autorun. Put the tint screen on this page and after the tint screen command, turn on Self-Switch A. Make a 2nd event page that has a Condition set to Self-Switch A, but otherwise leave the event page blank. This will turn off the Autorun.

You might have to play with a fade out/fade in effect going onto this map as well, since it does take a moment for the screen to tint darker, which will be noticeable otherwise.

I will just to add to mlogan - If you want that event to be activated every time you visit the map, instead self-switch A and second event page, use Erase Event

at your first page. The event will be erased until the next time you visit the map.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
