Tint Screen is basically a mathematical formula applied to the entire screen output.

To apply it selectively to only part of the screen output is a lot more complex and not easily done, because in that case it isn't a simple mathematical process anymore.

So it isn't easy to do, you'll better off using something else that is not based on color mathematics.

Can you perhaps give a better description of what you want to happen, then we might be able to tell you how to do that without using tint screen.

Well i want to use a skill and have the screen go black but characters not effected by background going black meaning u can still see all actor sprites and animations DURING BATTLE (action sequence)

only screen goes black like on rpg games where they do a move or magic and the screen goes black and they show the animation and you can still see it although

the background is black. Im using Yanfly plugin that tints screen and it works but the sprites and animations tint with the screen i dont want this to happen. any

solutions? and are you familar with yanflys plugin action sequence that allows you to tint screen in a action sequence for your

skills in battle at will?

That is because those other games don't use tint screen to have the background go black, they usually make a new screen with a background that is already black and fade between the screens. Unfortunately I don't think it's possible to replace the background during the battlescene by default, you'll need a special script/plugin for that.

Check Yanfly's page if he has something to replace backgrounds dynamically - otherwise it might be easier to make that effect part of the animation sequences (placing black picture cells on the screen as part of the animation)

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
