Hi everyone =)

Im happy and proud to be here with you guys and hope you can give me some helpful tips for my first project.

Since years I have a story in my mind, that I want to show people and make them experience what I imagine.

So I bought rpg maker mv (many people seem to say I should have bought vx, but you want to be up to date you know? xD

I want to create an adventure with a strong emotional story. Something like To the moon, even if I know my first game will be far from that level of awesomeness.

Now, like the programs name already told me, the configuration is mostly for rpg creation.

What plugins do I need, what is extremly useful for my cause and are there any tutorials for creating an adventure game in rpg maker? Any help is highly appreciated.

Have a nice day everyone.

I've moved this thread to Introductions. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

First, I suggest you follow the link to the "starting point" in my signature - those tutorials will get you the basics.

Specific questions should wait until you know your way around the engine and the editor - because there is no need for plugins to make an adventure game unless you want to add specific game functions.

All basics aof adventure games can be done with events only.

Before you start looking for plug-ins, i suggest that you should know what should be in your game..

Concept : What's your game about? That way you can start looking for resources (if you need more than what RMMV could offer)

Battle: You may already know that we have 2 types of battle pre-made especially for you! Front View and Side View (As for the difference between the two, it's already obvious :D ). Once you have already decided which type of battle you prefer, then you'll need plug-ins for that.

Theme: What would make your game different from other RPGs? Knowing special features which makes your game 'unique' reaches that level of awesomeness! :rock-right:

and lastly, Andar already has a starting point for new users!

Plan your work and Work your plan.

Good luck!

Welcome to RPG Maker!

thank you guys for the nice responses.

My adventure wont have any kind of turn based combat, skill leveling system or weapons to equip.

Although I would have wished for a action based combat system, but thsoe dont exist yet on mv I believe.

Hello!

Me + MV = Illumin JK! I don't own MV, can't give any advice on plugins. ^^

In games like this the story is the most important. For example "To The Moon" doesn't use any awesome scripts, as it mainly focuses on the story and events, so the story and eventing are the most important.

Good luck and welcome to the herd! (=

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
