An old version of Articy: Draft (version 2) is currently available on Bundlestars at a heavy discount for one week only:

<link removed - sale does no longer exists>

No, you don't save 195$ as they claim, because they reduced the price for Articy: Draft 3 to 99$ on steam.
But Articy: Draft 2 for 5$ is still cheap...

That program allows you to organize story planning with branching dialogue simulation and so on. It is intended for commercial game planning, so using this for private/free games would be a bit of overkill, but since it's currently available extremely cheap, interested people can give it a go.

(this is a private post that has nothing to do with Degica)

oh snap! That might be exactly what I need... thanks for the info!
Funny, because I was just on Bundlestars and didn't see it...

Wait...the description on Bundlestars says it is for Non-Commercial games only, but that you can upgrade to a commercial license on Steam, but there is no store listing for Articy Draft 2 on steam...

Personally I use a mind map software to make my story and engine

Draft (version 2), it looks a very complex software.
Especially if you're alone on a project.
Maybe more useful for professional studio ?

They have the old text and didn't update it, but it would be stupid to purchase the commercial upgrade anyway.

For AD3, they removed the difference - AD3 as it is on steam now already has full commercial use for 99$. (they remodeled the licence structure as well as the price)
And the upgrade for commercial use on AD2 as it was available for the last two years before the release of AD3 would also have cost 99$.

So if you want to use it commercially, simply purchase AD3 (hopefully at another discount, but as that is a new version it will probably be several months before that goes on a sale again.

Ok, thanks for the info. I will have to get a copy, that will help massively over the pen & paper I am currently doing. :)

First, let us reply to this one here:
So if you want to use it commercially, simply purchase AD3 (hopefully at another discount, but as that is a new version it will probably be several months before that goes on a sale again.
If you purchase articy:draft 2 via Bundlestars right now - you are still able to benefit from our upgrade discounts for existing users. Meaning, upgrading your "Bundlestar version to articy:draft 3 is possible till April 15th with a discount of 35%.

Secondly, regarding this comment:
Draft (version 2), it looks a very complex software.
Especially if you're alone on a project.

Yes and no ... :) It's a comprehensive piece of software. But keep in mind - articy:draft is a somewaht modular solution. If you - for example - just want to write your game dialogues, you can still do it without beeing "interfered" by all its other possibilities.

I've actually dreamed about software that had the capabilities of Articy - I don't know why I haven't heard of this sooner! I'm so happy about this - thanks so much!

Thanks for the info! I always missed the sales even though I've been wanting to get this tool for a very long time now (first time I heard about it must've been 2012ish D: ).

I bought this and have been playing with the tutorials. I have to say, wow, this is way more than just a story planning software. You can do so much more, game development wise. I'm actually pleased with this, because I can play and plan with this until I get MV working again.

Thanks for the heads up! I've been looking for a good tool like this, but they were either underpowered or overpowered and way too expensive. I don't mind a little overpowered but not expensive at all. ^_^

FYI: Bundlestars extended the countdown, it's still 3 days - and now even with a 5% easter sale discount option added

EDIT:
And now they added the commercial upgrade for AD2 as another sale well - for only 2.99

EDIT2:
closing this because the sale is now past

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
