Like the topic says, there are so many Mario based games out there.  So I'd like to know what your top 3 are.

For me it's pretty tough.  But in the end I'd say it goes:

1) Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars

2) Super Mario 64

3) Super Mario World

When it comes to any Mario game my order falls under:

  1. Super Mario Bros 3 (NES version)
  2. Super Mario World
  3. Super Mario 64 DS

Hmm...this is tough.

Okay, how about a top 3 in no particular order?

-Mario Superstar Baseball

-Mario Kart Double Dash!!

-Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Mario Superstar Baseball and Double Dash!! are there for the multiplayer goodness mostly. I haven't played many other Mario sports games.

Only played Paper Mario Thousand Year Door recently, but it was an excellent game.

I feel bad leaving out Super Mario RPG, but it's been so long. Also, Super Mario 3, but there's just something about it that's...missing. Super Mario World is great, but I played it too much, I'm actually burnt out on it. Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga was great too...I really enjoyed Super Mario Galaxy as well, but haven't beaten it yet...I could go on and on...

You almost have my list, but I'd have to say:

1. Super Mario RPG

2. Super Mario All Stars

3. Super Mario World

From what I recently saw, though, Super Mario Advance (which is essentially the SMB 2 remake for GBA) looks to be a much better version with some nifty updates than the NES game:

I'll have to play it at some point.

Easy.

1. Super Mario Bros. 3

2. Super Mario World

3. Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins

I don't list RPG under here because it didn't feel like a "Mario" game. It's in my top RPGs list though, for sure.

1. Paper Mario Series. If I had to be asked my absolute favorite entry, probably Thousand Year Door.

2. Super Mario RPG. This was my first RPG ever. It's simple, light, and quirky. Still replay it all the time.

3. Super Mario Allstars. Mario Bros 3 could probably be here alone but this cartridge went ahead and gave me the others to play, and mine had Mario World on it even, so ooooh yes.

Everybody sayin' Super Mario All Stars...DATS CHEATIN. .

DATS CHEATIN RIGHT THERE. There's Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 2 Electric Boogaloo, and Mario 3 on there, plus some had World with it. Dats like, 21 games.

:p Pot stirred.

Well, here is my defense of Mario Allstars taking up a slot.

It's more than one game, certainly. But when I was growing up It's what I played. The heyday of the NES was a few years before my time and I probably would not have had access to any of the Mario Bros Games without the existence of this port. That said, I knew it was sort of cheating so I named my favorite from Allstars as Mario Bros 3.~

Can I just put Super Mario 64 on here three times?

Outside of that... Mario Golf: Advance Tour was super underrated. But if we were going to do core SM titles I would say:

1. Super Mario 64

2. Super Mario Bros 3

3. New Super Mario Bros

1. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

2. Super Mario 64

3. Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga

Wasn't much of a fan of the sidescrollers they were just all too similar to me. I'm assuming the Wario games don't count, I would put Wario Land 4 in Superstar Saga's place.

Only three.... ONLY THREE!? Out of the 200+ games mario is in, narrowing it down to three is pretty hard.

Fine, this is mine.

-Super Mario Galaxy

-Super Mario World

-Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

1) Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars

2) Super Mario World

3) Super Mario 3 / All Stars (feels like cheating to pick All Stars, although that is how I mostly played 3)

4) Ok this is flat out cheating for a list of 3...but I had to add Mario Kart SNES! Played that game too much for it to not be somewhere!

I need to play the Paper Mario games too - picked the original up on virtual console but have not got very far. Had I played them when I was younger I bet they'd be high on my list too though.

1. Mario Party (1)

2. Super Smash Bros. Melee (does this count?)

3. Super Mario RPG

(4. Mario Golf 64)

Honorable mentions to Super Mario 3, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario 64, Mario Paint (music maker was such fun), Super Mario World, Mario Golf GBC, the original SMB, New SMB, the entire Mario Party/Smash Bros. series, and, heck, half of the games they've ever made.

I've signed up for a job training program for people with Asperger's Syndrome. I went to a "test run" today so they could see how well I did with simple jobs, and I amazed them. Most new people do it in 30+ minutes, while I finished in a mere 15 minutes. Gives me time to work on a screenplay for Studio MDHR...
