Just a quick question as I am making my Zelda style game.
As I expand my world with no world map, there may be a lot of running round (as I have put later on dungeons in early areas).
Rather then having to run around everywhere (on the same 'continent') would you prefer this type of game to have town scrolls (which drop / buy) so you can portal between towns rather then having to run back and forth, or would you prefer the back and forth exploration.
(note that there are fast travel through caves that have been explored so you can manually go back in the dungeon or fast travel through (which puts your ingame time by a set amount depending on the size of a cave.)
or do you have a better idea that you'd like to see in this type of game.
Cross continent travel is done by airships and flight paths.
