Just a quick question as I am making my Zelda style game.

As I expand my world with no world map, there may be a lot of running round (as I have put later on dungeons in early areas).

Rather then having to run around everywhere (on the same 'continent') would you prefer this type of game to have town scrolls (which drop / buy) so you can portal between towns rather then having to run back and forth, or would you prefer the back and forth exploration.

(note that there are fast travel through caves that have been explored so you can manually go back in the dungeon or fast travel through (which puts your ingame time by a set amount depending on the size of a cave.)

or do you have a better idea that you'd like to see in this type of game.

Cross continent travel is done by airships and flight paths.

I think not having a teleportation aspect is okay up until a certain point - look at Pokémon for example, they do it so perfect. Make you run around enough until you can finally use Fly. I would 100% definitely give people the opportunity to "teleport", it can get so tiresome and infuriating to have to backtrack through a cave full to the brim with annoying enemies that you've defeated a million times. Think of A Link to the Past when you unlock the pigeon thingy that flies you all over, absolute life saver.

Yeah that's a good point, I think I will add something similar as it makes it easier to transport for quests too (you will get it slightly later on though)!

RMMV
I did something very similar in my game, it is a kind of a warp whistle deal.

An item set to a common event which transfers the player with a nifty little song or something.

The possibilities are many!

If it is a zelda style game, people might expect it to have zelda styled features such as the soar stones from majoras mask or the ocarina songs from OOT.

Make it original if you can, but if I was playing it I would most likely expect SOME form of teleportation within the game.

I guess it depends on how enemy heavy the areas are and what can be found/explored inside of the areas.

Is going in and out a multitude of times really worth it? If there are things to be gained/found, I can see not having some sort of teleport feature, but eventually the things you can find will no longer be needed after a certain point.

I think having a fast travel feature should def be included, but not at the sake of excluding the foot travel.

Don't forget, aspiring writers: Personality isn't what your characters do, it is WHY they do it.
Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
