Ok, so basically I dabble in the editing arts. I've got some stuff some people might find useful so I'll put it all here! You must credit the original authors if you want to use them, I'm not worried about credit for stuff that's only been edited.

Most of these resources are for my game, The Arms of Reverie, but you are welcome to use them in your own games.

Terms of use: Anything credited to Enterbrain or Tpasmall only, you must contact me for permission to use in commercial projects. Everything else you must check with the other authors credited for use in commercial projects. All resources are free for non-commercial use. Feel free to redistribute the resources credited to tpasmall and Enterbrain but only if proper credit is given. Resources with credit to other artists may only be redistributed with their consent.

I'm not currently taking requests, but suggestions and ideas are welcome.

The faceset was made in Celianna's faceset generator and edited to fit the sprite. The sprite is from Famitsu's Generator and is provided only as a match to the faceset. The sleeping sprite works as an event. (Currently unanimated)

How to setup talking poses:
Your event should be set to trigger: action button.

New event line: set move route
Change speed: 5 (x2 faster)
Graphic: (choose your events matching talking pose)
Stepping Animation ON
Wait: 24 frame(s)

Check the box that says repeat (this will keep the animation running as long as the text is displayed on the screen). Uncheck the box that says wait.

New event line: show text
Put whatever you want in here.

New event line: set move route
Stepping Animation OFF
Wait: 24 frame(s)
Graphic (back to original, non talking pose)
Wait: 24 frame(s)
Change speed: (back to whatever it was)

Only check the wait box this time.

And voila! Now you have animated talking sprites! There may be a simpler way of doing this, but that is the most glitch-free way I have found.

Thanks! The Emerald one was at my wife's request haha (her name is Emerald). So I figured I should really take some time on that one. And Cel's faceset maker really makes it easy to put the pieces together. Just some simple edits for the head band, hair and coloring it.

I'm really not all that good with graphics so I'm trying to find simple edits I can do to animate stuff that will work across the board. I've got a few simple animations in the works, that if they look good I'm going to do to a bunch of the RTP charsets.

I've done some recolors and edits too. They are harder to do than I thought they would be, so I always appreciate when somebody goes through the trouble to do so.

So I'm looking for some feedback on this one. It is a 'talking' sprite. I run it at speed 5 (x2 animation), if you guys like it, or think it's useful, I'll go through and do a good part of the RTP with it.

I like it a lot actually. I was playing around and made this little test project. I was trying to make a video but, it never showed it right.

Note: I used a different speed than you suggest, but I think that's more of a personal preference.

Also you might want to either rename the sprite files with a $ at the beginning or remind people to do so, otherwise you will confuse a noob.

Also again (I keep forgetting things). When I downloaded the faeroe sprite I don't know why but, for some reason Ace loads the background as black and the transparency kills the image. If anyone else has that problem just fill in the background with a color not use by the sprite and make that transparent.

Thanks! I've started work on Actor 1 and it's almost done (I might finish it this morning, but I need to leave the house in like 30 minutes and won't be back until tonight, so no promises!)

But, the site I host my pictures on unfortunately removes the $ tag on all the pictures automatically, so there's not much I can do on that. As for the transparency issues, I've never run into those, but I can put everything up with bright green backgrounds or something if people want that.

Edit: Your test also pointed out that the sprite isn't lined up correctly, so I shifted it over to line up with the default sprite!

Edit2: Running 10 minutes behind but it's done!

Thank you! He really makes my job easy since he does all the hard work, ha.

Also an update! Faeroe carrying a torch. Credit goes to Enterbrain for the sprite, the torch and fire are completely hand drawn by me so no credit there is needed. (It may be a little bouncy for some people's taste, but I wanted to keep the angle of the torch consistant with the arm).

That's a nice little touch having the torch :) Do you have the graphic by itself? It could come in handy for those wanting to use that with say a lighting effect script and their own character holding one.

I do! This is the animated graphic for it. I rotated it in photoshop to get the south facing graphic and didn't save it (stupidly) I will redo the south graphic in a little bit (probably after work).

Cool Tpasmall especially the torch graphic by itself. I just worked out a way to have a torch in my game and this will make it look so much better.

My finest work: A system that automatically updates the prompts for button inputs as the game goes along. (Eg. [Z] becomes [X] if you change the confirm button to be X on the keyboard, etc.).
