Hi! I've had a recurring problem lately with the transfer player command. When I test my game and activate an event that should transfer me to another map, the game just freezes and I can't do anything. If I open the game debug menu (not sure how it's called, but the menu that comes up when you press F9) and close it again, the player is in the new map at the desired spot.

Has anyone ever had this problem? How do I fix it?

Thanks in advance!

It's difficult to impossible to give you advice without seeing how you wrote the event. Please post a screenshot of the entire event window.

I can't post a screenschot for the moment because I found a way to work around the problem. It was happening in a common event and, instead of transferring the player in that same event, I just made it turn on a switch which activates an automatic event that transfers the player. This way works for now, but if I ever encounter the problem again, I'll post a screenshot. Thanks anyways!

I’m glad whatever you tried works, but just a suggestion, you might want to find a few minutes to post your screenshots to figure out what was happening. Even if that means you have to quickly recreate the Common Event to see if it works or you still get the same problem.
Transferring the player is a pretty basic event and if you experienced problems with that, my fear is that some other basic things might not work as planned.

Learning why it didn’t work will most likely help you later on.

Just a suggestion and good luck with your project!

@ZombieKidzRule Thank you for the great advice! As I was about to recreate the common event that was problematic, I encountered the same problem, this time with a regular event. I'll put the screenshot of my event. My engine is in French, but it should be understandable without knowing French. The only command present is the transfer command (the map and coordinates for transfer lead to a tile where it should be OK to transfer), the event is on the same level as the player and is triggered by contact with the player.

To give more info, neither the current or the destination map have any automatic/parallel process events. If needed, Here's also a list of the plugins used in my project, just in case.

Thanks in advance! Let me know if you need more information or if something is not clear.

One quick check you could do is make a new project with no plugins and see if a simple transfer event gives you the same problem. My suspicions is that it will work fine in a new project.

Then you could add each plug-in one at a time and test your transfer event to try to determine which plugin is causing the problem.

If the same problem appears in a new project with no plugins, then I have no idea what is going on.

if you event is set to "Action Button" is only works when pressing "OK"
on "Player Touch" or "Event Touch", it should trigger it directly.

transfers inside a Common Event mostly does not work when called,
so why using it?

Common Events are more used if you need it on multiple places, and if
something goes wrong, or not work, a simple edit in the common event
fix it for all the events calling that common event.

there is an inbuilt tutorial if you didn't do it yet.

as a side note of those, your YEP plugins arent in the correct order + your
other plugins is a kinda mix, and I would suggest to re-order them to categorize
them in the correct order.

this is to ensure for an higher compability between plugins, and avoid conflicts,
as conflicts can still occure even in the correct order.

Got new hard drive, now trying to install the softwares I lost to the dead drive, and more than half of them won't install because they're already installed on the dead drive, and uninstallers won't run because they can't find where their programs are installed. So I take it having a drive die on you screws you in more ways than just data loss. >:\
PC got fixed finally. Back online again. Turns out I have no business trying to self repair pcs because it was getting to like 176F / 80C. Shop installed a totally new cooling system and now it runs fine and is super quiet.
