Tried 4 different scripts for camera Zoom, none of the worked properly

Hello there. I am an RPG Maker VX Ace newbie, and I am having some trouble with my current project.

The thing is that I want the camera to be much closer to the character, and the only way I can do that is with scripts.

I tried with four different scripts, and each of them gave me a different headache;

Zeus81´s Map Effects (https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/map-effects.13941/)
Even if this is the less glitchy so far, it is still too glitchy to be used. Here´s a GIF of how the map looks with it:

This one is the mos glitchy that doesn´t crash the game. However, it looks VERY strange:

This one just gives me an error when entering the first map.

I am using a Parallax map, with the following scripts:
Yanfly Engine Ace - Parallax Lock (Locking the Parallax)
Seer UK´s Fixed Pictures (Overlay)

(I left all the trees and made a random trasnparent square for some reason, but without the zoom scripts it works just fine)


Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have an open thread from a couple days ago about translating a script to English- that script is actually for zooming the camera. I double checked, and it's the second one listed here; thanks, I had lost the original link! I was originally using the first one you linked here: Zeus81's Map Effects, but even though it worked, it caused issues with my other scripts, and I could walk off the map. :I

So, your issue here is not the script. The script is functioning, but it doesn't seem to have any built-in zoom for parallax maps. It also seems to crash or simply not function half of the time in my game, hence why I wanted it translated. If you want it to work in your game, it will have to be modified to work with parallax maps.

Another issue visible is that most of your trees are in a parallax image, while some are tiles on the map. This is what causes the jarring image in the fist script. As for the last two scripts, I'd place the blame on script ordering. It's usually at fault in these situations, in my experience. For crashes, try installing http://himeworks.com/2013/06/custom-main-full-error-backtrace/. If it doesn't crash on its own, it can be very helpful.

You're welcome! I'm still high and dry (using Galv's Layers Script, not a Parallax script), but I'm glad someone got their problem fixed. Besides, you had the link I needed, so thank you as well.

Oops

Well, basically the guy who created the Thread (Nekojita) was having the same problem I had, and another guy (Milky Joe) answered with a link to a demo that contained Yami´s Overlay Mapping which is just like the Parallax lock script, but with more functions such as layers, shadows, etc.

The official yami´s website is no longer available, so the only way I know you can get it is download the demo, open it with the editor and copy the script :/

I know you don´t know Spanish, but the only thing you must do is to click the link that says mega.co.nz

Please note the demo doesn´t include any zoom script by default, you´ll have to add one. The Zeus81´s map effects works just fine, don´t know about the other ones
