Trigger state regen calls out of battle + alter its step count?

Hello fellow RPG-Makers,

I am trying to preserve the states when exiting the battle and potentially let them expire when I am out of battle (walking around in the world) and finally - if not expired - have them in the next battle. To be more precise, I want them to lose one of its remaining turns every x steps AND have its regen effect triggered when losing a turn (so hots and dots do not lose their effects). My current status is that the states do not lose turns at all while in the world, regardless of how long I walk around.

Now I do remember having this feature in one of my older projects. I also *think* I remember, that things worked just like described above, but I never really used it. It was a nuisance back then that I somehow disabled. What I am pretty sure to remember though is that I saw a parameter which controlled the amount of steps required to have a state lose a turn out of battle (and for whatever reason I also remember it to have had a default value of 20 steps).

The sad part is, that I absolutely do NOT remember where that parameter was or how to enable said feature at all NOR if it even was for the MV or VX Ace! Can someone of you point out which plugin might help out with that?


NOTE: I've always used a bunch of Yanfly plugins, so chances are that this feature/option/parameter was in one of her plugins. I have searched through all of her plugins in my current project but was unable to find anything related.

NOTE 2: I am using Yanflys BattleSystemATB if that makes things any more or less complicated.

Yanfly's Buffs & States Core does a lot of stuff, but I don't think it has any functionality for changing how states work outside of battle.

However, this is something you could easily do via parallel process common event using the properties that plugin adds.

Um... isn't what you want actually default behaviour? If you set a state to auto-remove on turn end, then for every 20 steps on the map, it will trigger the state. You can also set it to wear off after a fixed number of steps (but that won't affect how often the effect triggers).

Unless one of the plugins you're using overrides this default behaviour?

@Solar_Flare thank you for pointing that out, I didn't know that was the default behaviour. I just took a look into a blank project, added a few plugins and realized that Yanflys BattleEngineCore is responsible for having this feature dropped. I do not see any parameter to configure it but I will take a look into the code and see what I can do.
