Uninstall VX and make sure that you have cleaned out the registry and the left behind files. Then turn off your PC, press the turn off button (flip switch), unplug power supply, press power on button, plug power supply back into PC tower, turn on PC. That should make sure the computer has done a complete and utter restart. I found that helps sometimes.

Now do the installation of the RTP first but in the same location of the documents. Or if you feel like that's not the problem, you can install it to programs again. Also, try doing this process with a wired connection, if it is at all possible.

As for the Minecraft comparison, I have no idea. I've never played that game or really looked into it, but I'll lend an example of my router. When I bought it it came with either a CD or a url (I have two routers) to edit my router's preferences through an account—admin account—and a password. In there, you should have lots of options, especially about security. Unless you know what you are doing don't mess with anything in here, but I would like to know what security type you have. It could be "closed off". The best example I can give by "being closed off" is like when you are playing an Xbox or PS3 and your NAT (there are three different types for PS3) type allows connection, but not a very fast or thorough kind of connection.

when I set up my little brother's PS3 the connection was WAN, I'm pretty sure. Also my router was connected to my desktop from like 2001 and my dad threw it out, so I guess the account got lost on the CPU.

WAN? So under NAT TYPE in NETWORK SETTINGS it says WAN? Are you sure? If it is TYPE 3 then that means your connections are very restricted and could be why you can't connect or why you are having problems. I had a similar problem with some online games I was playing, especially from Joymax. *to anyone wondering the reason I'm asking Kidic to check through a console is because it is easier to figure out if his server is "closed off".*

Throwing out a PC shouldn't effect it, unless you mean he threw the router out? Your router is from 2001? Maybe you need a new one. Hmm, what brand is it? There might be a way to still find the URL to configure your connection.

My router is like 3 years old, I still have it and use it. The desktop connected to it was from 2001. before my router I had a connected connection. And I do think my router is very restricted.

Okay then, what brand is it? You should be able to tell looking at the router. Once you have it, google the brand for "configuration URL/CD" and see if they can provide you with the URL. Once you have that, you can change your security type to something else and then try connecting to the internet again. But remember to make notes of the original configuration before you change it so if something goes wrong, you can change it back. Since you are wireless, it might ask you to retype your password to connect again when you are on the internet.

I hope your next post reports something good! :)

Also would it just be easier for me to try to get a different version of RPG Maker or would the same problem occur?

No, not a serial number. A model number is needed though. For example, Cradlepoint MBR95. I don't know. If you can't connect, the problem might carry over. Do try a different engine and see if it happens still—and use a different email.

I would try to do the thing with my router but Me, my mom, dad and older brother's computers use it, my wii, 3ds do to, so I don't want to mess things my by mistake. But if my bro was able to get it using the same router as me I don't think thats the problem. So i'm going to try a different one.

I tried to get a different one but still the same problem, I even tried the different was you told me to try but still nothing. I'm really angry and I'm basicly done trying. Thanks for all your help and time I really do appreciate it.

If your brother managed to install an RM engine then you would not have to edit the router. This is really strange...did you try downloading with a new email when you attempted a different RM?

I'll try to imitate your problem and find a way around it!

This is really weird...! Can you right click the launcher for the engine and go to properties and tell me if if it says "blocked" in the bottom right?

Despite having a fairly new wireless router, and trying the use of a proxy IP, I -still- cannot get a recent free trial of VX Ace to work. As much as I don't wish to ask this, could I please trouble a mod for a free trial key?

IceWulf, you reminded me of something! Kidic, please try using a proxy to download the engine and tell me if that helps. It wouldn't hurt anything to have a proxy running while you run for it for a connection either. That's all I have for now. I'm still attempting to recreate your problem, so I hope that if this doesn't work a moderator or admin can come in here and help you three get this trial started.

I hope it is okay to say since its to get your engine to work legally, but here is one that actually works. You just get the trial download URL and access it through the proxy server and then download your trial. Another you can try is the free Hotspot Shield—a software.

Ah, yes. Kidic, you'll need two things to use a proxy IP the way I tried; it involves the site MagitekElite posted, as well as a small program called "SocksCap". Here's how I tried it get it to work:

1) download and install SocksCap

2) go to the listed website

3) search for just about any proxy on the website, so long as it is "HTTP" based

4) open SocksCap

5) go to File, then Settings in SocksCap

6) insert the proxy IP's address and port into SocksCap's settings

7) using SocksCap, click the "New" button

8) on the subsequent menu, use the "Browse" button and find the .exe for RPG Maker VX Ace

9) click "Okay"

10) click "RPGVXAce" (or whatever you called the .exe) on the little menu below the buttons on SocksCap

11) click "Run!", which is to the right of "New", "Delete", and "Modify"; this will run VX Ace

12) Try to activate the free trial

Though it did not work for me, it might work for you for whatever reason; for instance, I had a problem with a CoGen DRM error with Ace previously, and found out that if I installed RPG Maker VX (not Ace), regular ol' VX's version of the CoGenDrm.dll file allowed Ace to work. Some people were able to get their own copy of Ace to work under the same circumstances, while others couldn't.

My Internet protection won't let me view it because it says the website is dangerous :/ I think I just need one of those codes to make it work.

Which site can't you view? The proxy I linked to, or the SocksCap IceWulf talked about?
