I am having issues with my 30 day free trial of RPG Maker XP. I installed the folders that it told me to install, and it appeared to be working normally until I clicked "New Project" and "Ok". Then a message popped up saying "Failed to create folder." No matter what I do this message keeps on popping up, and I can't contact Technical Support because I was never given a Product Key. Could someone please help?

Where exactly are you trying to create your new project (in which folder)? There are some folders that are restricted (see this topic).

As an aside, you can still contact tech support, just write in 0000s when it asks for a key.

I have a different problem now. I saw that someone in a different thread had the same problem as me and fixed it by moving the RPG Maker folder to "Documents". I saw this, and moved both the "RPGXP" and the "RGSS" folders to "Documents". Now, no matter what I do, when I try to open RPG Maker XP, a message pops up saying "RGSS-RTP Standard not installed."

@ELink the default folder for XP-Projects (which were made for WinXP after all) has become a restricted folder since Win7, that is why you get the error message.
You have to redirect the program to create the project in a different folder and everything will work.

EDIT:
That is because you moved folders that MUST NOT be moved.
Only the new project has to go there, not the original installation.

You shouldn't have moved the RGSS folders at all. That one needs to remain where it was first installed!

Thank you, but now I have a new problem. When I try to create a new project, a message pops up saying "Unable to copy folder." Then a folder suddenly appears inside the "System" folder inside the "RPGXP" folder with the same name as what the file name was going to be, but I can't seem to interact with this folder within RPG Maker XP.

There's no "system" folder when you make a project, so I'm going to assume you moved the actual RMXP installation as well. Please move that back.
The only thing you should have done was make a new project in My Documents, like this:

@ELink
By trying to guess what to change and making the wrong selections and moves, you effectively damaged your trial installation.

I suggest you do the following to repair the problem:
1) go to windows control panel and completely deinstall the RMXP trial using the regular functions.
If there are error messages during the process, tell the computer to continue.
2) if there are any shortcuts on your desktop after that, delete them
3) run the setup for the trial again to make sure everything is copied where it belongs.
4) when the editor runs again. go to the "new project" function - you'll get the window in the picture above.
5) click on the button with the ... to the right of location and then use the following controls to change the location to a regular place like my documents
6) click on OK to create the new project there.

RMXP should now remember the correct locations and work correctly.
