So what I'm wanting to do, this is simply more out of curiousity for later projects than for ones now, is create a state that, like death, encompasses all battle situations and even outside of some for cases like fall damage and the like.

I wanted this to sort of be like the bleeding state in D&D where you go below a certain health percentage and your character is marked as bleeding.  I was wanting this simply for the ability to change music, effects, etc... when the player gets very low on health to make it feel like a more tense situation.  I tried sort of copying the death/K.O. scripting and simply changing it to bleeding and linking it to state_id 26, which is the bleeding state I created to try and test it out, however it doesn't work still and I know next to nothing about scripting so I don't know if I'm simply missing something simple or if I need to add in a whole new script to make this state.

Like I said this is more for just curiousity because I might make a game with a heavy D&D feel if I can and I was wondering about this, but it's no big deal really if I can't figure it out.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
