trying to have an event change graphic

Forgive me, I am pretty new at this software.
I am trying to create a game where the player can plant a seed, wait some time, and then harvest the seed. Everything works so far, but I can't figure out how to get the event to display a certain graphic for each "stage" the plant is is (unplanted, growing, ready). How would I do this? I can post screenshots of what I have so far if needed.

What you want to achieve is more complex than it sounds since farming system requires a complex event system.

But to answer your question, if you want to change the event graphic permanently (i.e, it stays after you leave then revisit the map), is to change the event page. How to change the event page is to set the condition for each page. For example, if you set page 2 in a certain event as "Switch 1 is ON", then if you flip a switch 1 in other event, the event with switch 1 is ON condition will change.

But since the one you're trying to achieve is "stages", it will be better to use variables instead

I'd look for a self-data script so you can have self variables on events rather than have to allocate a global variable for each event (depending on how many plots you want to have, of course).

Then a multi-timer script to handle the waiting and the changing of the variables.

Trust me, I've spent a couple months on this issue, it's a butt ton of work to get it done right without having hundreds of parallel processed events
lagging out your game..

Mostly, common events and variables (think, water sickness and seasons) is going to be the majority of work you'll do..
The good news is with the system I'm using you can pretty much copy/paste every evented plot after you have one event fully functioning.
You're also probably going to need a few plugins if you want an indefinite number of crops.
I have over 30 different fully harvestable (3 stages each) crops growing on MOG Hunter's day/night Time System plugin, with only four event pages used for each farm plot. If you don't want to run out of event pages, I recommend using the set movement route to change image and when the crops get watered I found the (Set Movement Route Change Blend Mode Additive) provides the best alternative to darken the watered plant as opposed to making a darkened plant sprite. Normally any movement route changes would reset when the actor leaves the map but with Yanfly's Save Event Locations plugin you can prevent that from happening. Also, you'll probably need Change Event Graphic by CT_Bolt to change the event images (via Scripted common event) when the plant matures or dies off.
MOG Hunters time system might be the most difficult plugin to use because it's written in Portuguese but i just copied the plugins text and got google to translate it for me. Good luck!

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
