Trying to make Actor Dependent Events

So, I'm trying to make it so that whenever a different party member 'activates' an object, they'll say something different from one of their comrades. I've followed steps from VX/VXAce guides, but nothing seems to be working. When I go to activate it, no text box comes up.







Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I'm not using any plugins, currently.

You have your "If party lead == 6" inside your "If party lead == 5" conditional branch by the looks of it.


So if your party leader was actor 6, it would not run.

As Galv said, you have one of the If's nested inside the other - you don't need that.


I'm wondering though - if nothing at all is coming up, it may be your Priority setting. Because you have it below character, the player would need to be standing on top of the tile for it to activate. If you have the event on as an object that the character would walk up to and stand next to, you 'd need to set it "Same As Character".

Ah, thank you both so much! Seems I just added onto the conditional without adding the 'Else' part to it, and I didn't know about priority, either. It works just as intended now, thank you!

I wouldn't use the else statements for this, just put a simple If statement for each possible actor.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
