Trying to toggle hud with an item

I am using Moghunters time system and using a plugin command I can toggle the hud, but im trying to figure out how to make it so when I use the item the first time, the hud comes on, and if I use the item again it toggles the hud off.
Im sure i will be using a conditional branch to check for button pushes, but im legit lost at how to have one item have two effects depending on what sequence i use the item in.

It's going to go like this.
You need the item, a switch, and a common event.

Item should be:
consumable: no
scope: none
occasion: menu screen
and it should call a common event

The common event will NOT be parallel and NOT need a switch to be activated. (The switch is for the conditional branch.)

What the conditional branch is going to do is check to see if a switch is off. If the switch is off, it's going to turn it on, and then display the HUD.
Otherwise, it's going to turn the switch off and then hide the HUD.

I think these are it, I'm not sure, but I feel like providing this process is enough for you to get it even if those aren't the right commands.

You literally did exactly what I did but I put an else branch in the common event.

Actually, you're exactly right. That won't work without and else statement. I thought I had added one.

Ya I realized now why it wasnt working, my conditional branch was just set up wrong.
So thank you for validating my logic hahaha

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
