without directly using another works system I would like to generate a turn based RP game in this community. like Vampire: the masquerade.

I am amazingly noob to this whole system but am willing to purchase the ace version if I can get a couple helpful hints on:

      coding

  • accessible/viewable/editable character sheets
  • dice roller's
  • player hud's for multiplayer use
  • storyteller options
  1.                     updateable game scenario, via: uploading quest line
  2.                     difficulty variables
well, you get the nitty of it if anyone here ever played that style of game before. any advice or already available script resource's available let me know.

I hope to have lots of fun in rpg maker

Multiplayer:

The entire RM series is single-player only, you would need scripts to implement multiplayer. There have been some attempts to make a multiplayer script, but so far nothing has been finished for Ace. There are several reports of multiplayer-scripts reaching beta-status-testing, but nothing published and ready for use.

This is one of the more difficult problems to program, but if you have a number of programmers in your team then it is possible, just a lot of work.

Online-Updates:

Several scripts are available, but many kinds of updates require the player to start a new game. It is possible to make updates that can continue with previous games, but in those cases the developer has to be more carefull about what he updates.

the rest of your options or parts are possible, but sometimes require a script for adding that function (the master script list contains more than 900 scripts for different uses, most ideas are available there in one form or another). In other cases the option is just a bit deeper in the engine (for example, the random number generator is part of the control variable event command)

Screens (like the status screens for character/actors can be changed by scripting, but the player cannot edit them directly (the developer has to provide the buttons to change contents)

i have been searching the blogs for the script writers and i maybe should post this in a scripting page for possible help as i am a fresh student to game design and programming at the art institute of pittsburgh online division but, because i am already on this post i will ask here and then possibly repost in proper forum location as well but say i was looking for something like this:

chracter edititable menu's "in-game" by the user to spend experience earned through the game on new skills unlocked at certain points, like in WoW or DBOonline.

as in, character goes from Lvl.1-Lvl.2 experiece earned by this point can now be used to purchase a new skill that becomes available, like a new attack type or special power

and every power or attack purchased can also be advanced in power with future points earned, up to a certain level, at which point it becomes maxed out.

the experienced earned would reset to zero when the skills are purchased or upgraded, however, the characters new level remains the same and continues to rise.

There should be some Skill-Tree system scripts floating around the Master Script List, or some google search results. They usually provide a custom window where you can spend skill points gained upon levels or other things, the skills can have various requirements, putting multiple points in the same skill can raise it's effectiveness and can have a set maxed cap. Depending on the script you can give the window pretty diagram designs for the tree, though it might require some scripting knowledge / custom resources.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
