I want to be able to choose each actor action when their turn comes instead of picking actions for the whole party at the beginning of the turn. I would still like it to be based on Agility, but I do not want a full CTB unless there really is no other option (in which case, I might drop the whole idea instead).

Does such a thing exist? It would have to be compatible with Yanfly's Ace Battle Engine.

Thanks.

I believe there's a plugin for it in the Yanfly website

@Raijinn Thank you, but sadly plugins are for MV, and this is for Ace, so it needs to be a script.

I don't think Free Turn Battle is what they want, as Free Turn Battle is where you can select who goes and can even have the same actor go 4x in the same turn, with the others doing nothing. They just want everyone to execute their turn when they select the action, but everyone has to go (which FTB doesn't allow as far as I know).

@Kes : I thought I saw a script for this once, called an ITB script (Instant Turn Battle). I don't remember who did it though. But maybe a search for ITB scripts might find it?

@bgillisp Thanks for the suggestion. After an extensive search, all I could find was for MV, nothing for Ace.

Perhaps some passing reader has seen one?

@Raijinn That's the one I found, and as you can see it is in the JS Plugin Releases section of the forum. MV plugins are written in JavaScript, whereas Ace has scripts written in a form of Rubby (RGSS3, to be exact). This means that MV plugins cannot work in VX Ace.

But thank you for taking the time to go looking.

I did a search too. I thought I had one saved for ACE, but it was also an MV one. Must have been in the wrong forum when I saved it or something and I never double checked the code.

Might require a CTB to do this then, and the only ACE one I know of is by Yami.

@bgillisp Yami's appears to have fallen by the wayside. It's not on his github, as far as I can see, and I found a thread where someone was asking for it. The only person who replied just had a version where all the line breaks are messed up (pre-forum transfer, so the problem goes back a long way to 2015) and it's beyond my wit to sort out how it should be.

It looks as if I shall have to drop the idea, which is a shame, as I was rather relying on finding something like this.

Actually, in FTB wheter the turns are tied to actors or not is choosen by the user, you can in fact have a one turn per character with it.

@Nirwanda That is true, but the reason why it won't work for me is because of something else. Yes, each actor will carry out the action immediately, so that aspect is fine. But here's the description from the script's page
After all of their actions have been performed, the enemies will take their turn in battling the actors. This becomes a system where actors and enemies will take turns attacking one another as a whole.
So it is, in fact, less dynamic than the default system, where if there are faster enemies, they will act before slower members of the party. AGI has been rendered totally irrelevant. I can see that for some types of game, that would work, but not for mine.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
