Nice man,this is really awesome.

I was just wondering, why did you set speed to -20?
I mean, since he is gonna transform into a werewolf you could give him some good stats.

Just to make it seem like it is a werewolf.

Now if you intended it to be some old werewolf i would understand.

:D

This is great, but ... what if I want to make my character turn into an animal outside the battle?!?

Hi, I tried your tutorial and while using a skill to morph back works fine, having my character revert to her original form (I want her to stay in her new form for only a limited time) once the wolf state goes away doesn't seem to work.

I was having a similar issue when playing around with this tutorial (which, btw, it's pretty awesome).  I haven't played with it for a while, so I was wondering if anyone else ran into something like this.  I'd have to get back into my game to play around with it to actually contribute any helpful solutions...or something.

Again, the tutorial was very helpful, thanks!

To answer some questions:

- If your character does not morph back there are two reasons for this: You forgot to add the auto trigger to the second common event or a third party script is interfering. This event is based around Yami's side view battle system (battle symphony) I have not tested it with any other side view system.

- If your character is not moving after the battle: This is not something I have come across though I can guess that its possibly because you havn't checked the "remove at battle end" from the state page and/or have missed the auto-trigger function mentioned above. I hope this helps.

After messing around with my game, I figured out that using $gameActors.actor(actorid).removeState(stateId) worked for me.  I don't know if it's ideal or not, but it worked in my common event for turning back to normal.  In my situation, I have a Druid who would be able to shapeshift into various types of animals and change back at will.  I also was trying to get it to where if her health was below a certain percentage, she would revert back.  I was able to have revert back, but the "transformation" state was still in effect, therefore, she was still able to use the skills that were specific for her in shapeshift form and none of her Druid magic.

I have not come across the character not moving after battle issue, nor have I tried the auto trigger for the second common event.

Oh wow. I just decided that one of my characters would have the ability to transform into various animals, I hadn't even begun to think about how to achieve that when I stumbled upon this! Thanks so much for making this, it's dead useful  :D

Very nice and easy to follow tutorial. What I like in particular is the way you can tweak the overal set-up to create different wereanimals.

This is a really good tutorial! Especially for people who do not want to use scripts. So glad I found this.  :D

Thanks for the tutorial. but i had some problems, first i did all what you mentionned but the sprite doesn't change its appearance. I saw in a comment that maybe it was because of Yanfly Sidebattle 3 scripts which are not compatible. And you replied that you use Yami's script and it works for it. So i tried it and it really works. But unfortunately i had another problem, well when i was using Yanfly scripts the characters faces were appearing in the window below regrouping all the members of your team. But with Yami's script the faces do not appear and that's a bit annoying for me. I would like to get an answer how to make faces appear in the window below. And thanks for everything. Btw I'm french and i do not have a good english, so excuse me if i committed some silly mistakes :)

It works great. Now I don't need a script to change names of my characters when they transform! There's one issue: When my characters die, the transformation state is removed, but the name doesn't change even when the actor is revived. I can make the reviving potions call the de-transforming event, but what if death didn't remove the transformation at all? Then, low-grade revival pots will remove the transformation, while high-grade revival-pots won't! Ideas sprouting on the go! And I just found the line responsible for clearing buffs on death!

Thank you for this! I was able to change my broken and glitchy mess of a transformation with this :D.

But I've noticed one rather annoying issue :/ When used in battle, the Actor Graphics don't change right away. They don't update until they get attacked. It's pretty underwhelming to have a big "character transforms into a raging beast" message and then not actually having the visuals change immediately to symbolize this. I'm using Yanfly's Core and Battle Engine if that helps.

I also had the issue Shaamdragon25 mentioned where characters can't move and the inventory won't open but this seemed to be fixed by making the Common Event a Parallel Process instead of Autorun. I think I did some other things too (as I was tweaking this method to work more how I wanted my transformation to work) so I'm not 100% if this alone was the sole cause of the fix.

I am *so* glad this exists. Been wanting to create a spell akin to Dragon Quest's BeDragon/Puff spell, and this is as close as I'm gonna get to it without scripting. Kudos!

Got drawn back by a notification about QPlugins. For those who want the MZ versions I was using, they're on my Github. https://github.com/ImaginaryVillain/QPlugins I literally don't care what you do with them, have fun! :LZSlol:

Meanwhile.. I'm glorying over these 550 new Victorian house models Epic gave me this month. See next post for examples....
Got my new monitor. Good news is, my display issues with linux are okay now. Bad news is, the readability of letters is a bit worse compared to the previous one.
Also, why the heck did I buy a 21.5" one when it's no longer sufficient for my needs?

It's a Christmas miracle. I finally got a recording to actually capture sound.

Some people have accused Knight Shift of being too cheesy for them, but I think they're just afraid.
