Gosh, this is difficult. I like the graphics and the story and the characters, everything...

But I get stuck at every single turn!

Now I'm stuck in a swamp where this guy talks something about undead otters, but I can't find a way to proceed in the game. And this is perhaps the third time this has happened.

The game would be much nicer if it wasn't so hard to figure out what to do next all the time...

Are you stuck on the 2nd or 3rd swamp map? I've had people get stuck on both. (This probably means that it's too hard or not well defined, like you said.)

Where are the other places you've gotten stuck?

I will add at least 1 more clue to each of those areas.

Thanks for the feedback.

First time was in the cell at the beginning. I just didn't understand how to steal from that guard.

Second was in the tunnel with the harpies. I didn't understand how I was supposed to do the carrying of the water. It would help a lot if the guy next to the bucket gave some advice every once in a while. :p

And I'm stuck on the first(?) swamp map, where the guy who talks about undead otters is. Everywhere I try to go I get blocked by something solid. I just can't find an opening to proceed through.

So it sounds like you're having problems figuring out which logs to manipulate to get past:

Note that on this map, the rest of the map only contains chests for extra loot. You don't actually have to explore the left side to get anything. You just have to get to the bridge to move on to the next map.
And if you get stuck on the 2nd map:

You have to move the log at position A first so it gets in the way of log B when you move it to the left. You then need to move to position C and use the Telekinesis spell (but I hope this last part is obvious because I put in some dialogue hints).

This area is still probably too confusing.
And I'm looking at the 3rd map right now and I guess I already fixed it earlier. You shouldn't have a problem on that map.

Yeah, there is no instruction for you to do that (in book or NPC dialogue), but I hoped players would pick up on it because you have to push that first log forward from the save area to even get to the 1st big map.

Whoops, stuck again.

I'm in the Minoc town and I've done everything the special woman wants me to do - but I can't figure out how to use tinker tools to create that key. I have the materials and the tool, I just don't know how to use them. I've run all over the place pressing every single object with all kinds of equipped-not equipped combinations. I can't even equip the tinker tools to the woman or Chad.

Please advise...

Once you buy Tinker's Tool from the shop, she should have a skill called "Tinker" in her skill / spell menu.

I guess it's a little inconsistent to have some items used when they are equipped and others from the skill menu. (I think it's only her that does this.) I should make it more clear.

I've been playing this over the past few days and almost 4-5 hours in now and it's really impressive. The level of polish and good presentation really shows, not to mention great humour and atmosphere. Will keep playing to see what happens next.

Wow, thank you.

I'm always a little embarrassed by the beginning. I think the randomness goes on for a little too long and some of the early puzzles need to be changed to be more intuitive. You really need to get to the end of Act 1 before everything really comes together (both story & game design in general).

Yeah, I think that is usually the case with most games. We tend to get better the more we work on the game and so latter parts usually turn out better than the earlier parts. Still though, I am already enjoying the beginning in your game. It keeps you curious about pretty much everything that's happening -

why is the Ogre tagging along with them, where did One-Eyed Jack run off to, what was the whole smelly thing everyone kept going on about, what was Book Master doing in that house of his, and who wrote all those guide books on thieving. Lol.

Heya again. Already a fair amount into the Act 2 and I'm digging it. Thought I'd mention a few small glitches that I came across. 1. In the Dainty Bardsman town, in the house with the Loom and Wheel, it is possible to walk over some of the objects. 2. In the Moonglow, the Alchemy shop has the 'Don't touch' sign next to some kegs. If you try to touch them, the shopkeeper seems to want to come out and stop you, but gets stuck and the game freezes. 3. The Margery & Reagents books 7 and 8 don't seem to have anything in them apart from the title.

But yeah, otherwise great game. I love the chemistry between the characters and all the various mini-games and boss fights.

Cool.

I just fixed all 3 bugs.

Thanks for the feedback.

(This will be fixed in version 3.14.)

I seem to be stuck in that mountain level. The last locked door requires a blackrock key, but I am not sure how to make it. I am guessing it has something to do with that lava bunny that an npc mentions, but no idea where to find it. Already looked through all the caves and can't find anything.

I was drawn here by the title I must try this
Thanks. And it's funny because I know there are some people who just despise the name. They take the time to tell me that they're not even going to bother with the game because of the name. I just wanted something unique/memorable. :(

It also kind of sets the tone for the game because while it's not a "joke game," the characters and setting are not super serious.

There is another map to the right of the save point. You should be able to figure it out from there. (There is also a map to the left where an NPC sells some stuff. Regs, I think?)
But if you have problems...

One semi-bug I found in one of my play throughs is that after you defeat the bunny in the volcano, his corpse was hidden behind a wall tile near the base. If you can't see the corpse, just keep checking around.
edit: And I know my images aren't showing up right now. I guess my bandwidth cap from photobucket will reset when the next month rolls around and the images will appear again.

Thanks. I've found the side map next to the save point, but I am still stuck, since the doors there require keys made of emerald, ruby, and sapphire, which I have no idea how to craft, since they can't be crafted by normal means and there seem to be no other pointers around. Also, this level is a bit too hard to get about since you get encounters every few seconds, most of which you can't escape from, making exploration really difficult. I still love the game though, it's been fantastic up to now, but this level feels like a huge roadblock.

Ok, I'll lower the encounter rate on all those maps.

The whole key crafting thing might need an overhaul, but the way it works is map specific. If you're on the map on the right, when you go to craft a key you'll be given the choice between the gems instead of the ingot types.

Ok, but I couldn't see any anvil on that map. There was one right next to the save point and another one a bit further behind in one of the lower areas. Is there another anvil somewhere then?

Oh, you don't actually need an anvil to Tinker, only to Smith. You can Tinker anywhere.

I should probably add a note about this somewhere, at least once.

edit: It should be in the Tinker manual that you can buy from the Tinker shop in Minoc, but I'm not sure. I'll have to recheck the text.

edit again: It looks like I deleted the old outdated Tinker and Smith books and never replaced them.

edit again: Added an NPC to the Tinker shop that gives this info. (Version 3.14)

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
