Bumping this thread. I haven't advertised it anywhere else in a long time and I'm not sure if anyone has played this game in a while.

Always looking for more feedback and I'm in the mood to stomp out more bugs. <3

Hey there :) Someone recommended your game and I'm trying it out!

Errrr. Looks embarrassed. I'm stuck in the very first jail where I have the key but I can't get out and all I get is a guard who says he's lost his marbles. Did I do something wrong? ;D
Btw, found something odd. The very scene at the jail, there was manacles on the wall. Then when you find the mirror, the manacles disappear, and in the next scene the manacles reappear. Have I gone bonkers too? ;D

Can't wait to play more. That poetic opening was very witty :)

Hello!

I've had many complaints about the jail at the beginning of the game. I've tried to make it easier and more clear on what to do over the years, but it looks like I need to do more. The clue to escaping is in the book that is on the ground in your cell. The whole point of the room is to teach you how to steal outside of combat. To do that, you need to speak to an NPC once, then you have 5 seconds to move around to their back and select them again. This should open their backpack. If they have anything worth stealing a graphic and text will appear. If I remember correctly, the guard in the middle of the hall should have the key to get outside.
Also, because people were still occasionally getting stuck at different points in the game, I made some walkthrugh videos and posted them on my site (http://uothief.com/undeniably/letsplay.html). What you're looking for is in the first part around the 6 minute mark:

The youtube videos are very poor quality. They were all recorded on my crappy laptop. But I just wanted to post something to help people when they're stuck.
Thanks for point out the shackles thing... hm... I just overlooked it. I've redone the maps for this first area so many times. I just copy/pasted it wrong.

Thanks for playing!

Yeah. In retrospect, there are a couple things I would do differently if I could start this game over from scratch and having more female main characters would be one of them. I think male characters just felt easier for me to write (without just devolving into stereotypical female archetypes), so they just naturally, mostly ended up male.

Every few months I search "Undeniably Sexy: A Thief's Tale" on Google just to see if the game has popped up anywhere new. As far as the RPG Maker community goes, I think a lot of people have heard about the game (just because only a small fraction of games started are actually completed), but rarely does my game pop up on anyone's "Top 10 RPG Maker Games!" list.

Anyway, I just did my latest Google search and it looks like a Polish site, Goniec RM, has played and reviewed the game!

I normally wouldn't copy/paste an entire review, but since this has been thoroughly butchered by Google Translate, I think it should be fine.

Date of issue: 2013

Maker: XP

Genre: RPG

Language : English

Rarely happens that someone made a game for six years. With us such a project long gone into oblivion , meanwhile, are the world's lunatics who persevered to the end of such a long project. What came of it ? You'll be reading a review of a game thief .

The story :

Chad Sexington is leading a carefree life thief who wyplątuje of one cabal to fall into another. The game starts , of course, in prison and immediately combine , how to get out . They help us in this remarkable skills of our heroes , and the fate that has this time turned out to Chad gracious . As befits a thief , Chad loves gold above all else . His main motivation is the possibility of enrichment. History as is generally quite simple , but the number of events and twists while hiking our hero make it , we never know what is about to happen.

Another advantage of the story are the characters . Chad is a playboy who thinks only about himself. But his ability to fall into trouble and taunts ( cult - It was not me ) make it impossible to dislike him . The team, of which our thief will walk changes dynamically . But each person is on its way intriguing and diversifies the gameplay : the mysterious mage, paladin lawful , or my favorite - sweet ogre who eats children. The game is full of sophisticated humor and hilarious cutscenes . The only obstacle for most customers will be language - sometimes we have to deal with Old English .

Mechanics:

Looks interesting combat system . It is still the primary BS, but the copyright alterations . Side view battlerów and skills taken from Ultima Online form a unique blend. Various characters in the team and disputes range of skills make the battles are extremely tactical . On the one hand we have the satisfaction of won battles , on the other hand , when there are too many - it starts to bore us .

And what does a thief , you do not have to just fight? Of course stealing ! And how does it work in practice? We approach the NPC from behind and molest enter ;) . Like a simple thing , and happy. Chad can also become invisible and thus penetrate alongside other form without attracting attention . Not only that - in the package you get an extensive crafting . We will be able to play at the wheel weaving , forging swords, bring out some minerals and many other things. Sounds great , but in practice it does not look like already . The creation of objects is vaguely clunky . It should make us fun to , and yet tired .

The biggest problem the project are checkpoints . For a large part of the game besides the usual fights, there are also random , and when to this are really long cutscenes , and after them , eg : another struggle in which losing is waiting for us to load the game before a sizeable piece of time. The situation is repeated often enough , and with such a long game after some time leads to frustration.

Binding Audiovisual :

History Thief is embellished with a large mix of graphic styles . Maps is a combination of RTP with custom objects. Although it stand out from one another sometimes contrast or style , it looks really good , and pleases the eye . Worse is the case face'tów . Small, rozpikselowane characters from Ultima look ugly , are devoid of focus , and sometimes they do not belong to charset , which supposedly represents them .

Music is a collection of various melodies dynamically changing depending on the action in the game . And that this is changing quite often , also note that we will not manage to listen to boring.

Result:

Undeniably Sexy - A Thief 's Tale is a powerful RPG with an emphasis on story. Numerous twists and omnipresent humor make will not get bored . Kończcie therefore read, start your game and Take this lady , which stands at the inn purse . Certainly not notice.

PROS :

- Chad and the rest of the Tale

- Numerous twists

- Great humor

- A lot of extras

- Cons :

- Coarse crafting

- checkpoints

PLOT: 5/6

GRAPHICS : 4/6

CLIMATE : 5/6

MUSIC: 4/6

MECHANICS : 4/6

OVERALL RATING: 4 +

Generally very favorable (and even I don't think the game is perfect). One of the weakest parts of the game is the crafting system, and the review echoes this fact. But! The fact that they were able to criticize these game details, positive or negative, let's me know they must have put a significant amount of play time into the game before writing up the review. This was not just a quick 1-2 hour preview, followed by a quick write up, just to get hits on their site.

With an overall rating of 4.5/6 and having generally favorable things to say about all aspects of the game, I'll take it. :)

I've played this game many years ago... and I have to say it is inspiring.

Many RM stories follows old cliches, and many characters you see in them are either overdramatic or unspirited. It isn't the case of this particular game. The protagonist absolutely doesn't follow the regular pattern, the characters you see around are all troubled, or psychotic, or something :D and as you get used to people in your party they just go away, for an insane reason (with the equipment you gave them, if I remember well..). And there's a great sense of humor. That's why it inspired me so much.

There are some epic moments, when (spoiler warning) you take the blame for a crime you didn't commit by telling a guard you did... It's been years since I last played it. And I never finished it... (I did this with many games, as Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment.. it isn't because I got bored of your game :p )

I'll be playing it once again, soon. There have been updates in 2013, they're probably new to me :)

Yeah, thanks for playing (again!).

It's always nice to hear that people are still playing.  This game never became as popular as other games that were created and completed around the same time.

(It's hard to believe that I began this game 9 years ago in 2006.)

I have no idea how many people have played it.

And know of a handful of people who have confirmed beats the game by posting either here or on my forum.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...
