Hey and happy holidays to all.

So my question is very noobie but i found this in the VX ACE description:

"RPG maker VX ace has support for unlimited tilesets, whereas RPG maker VX could had a limit of up to only five tilesets"

My question is how? i read around google and i found somewhere ace can set up different tilesets for each map by default but i cant seam to find this option(also that is still not "unlimited" lol)

Is that how unlimited tilesets can be achieved? because i di try to increase the tilesets size and the editor would ignore all tiles outside the basic size.

Any help would be appreciated. I`m using parallax mapping now but its VERY taxing on the games size, i`d like to mix parallax with custom tilesets.

(not to mention parallaxing becomes much more time consuming with tall sprites :p )

With VX, you had the one set of tilesets for the entire game. EVERY map shared the same tileset. Scripts were written that allowed you to work around this.

With Ace, each map is still limited to the A group and the B-E tilesets, but you can have a different set of tilesets for different maps.

Don't confuse unlimited tilesets with unlimited tiles per map.

If you're mixing parallax mapping with regular mapping, you can just create your own images to combine into tilesets. You have to make sure, though, that the image for each slot is the correct size. To do that, either look at the Resource Standards for Tilesets in the help file (F1 in the editor), or export some of the RTP tiles and take a look at them in an image editor. You're probably going to be working with the B-E slots the most, I'd say, and do the background with parallaxing.

Thanks, and yeah i did edited loads of tilesets already, so that's not the problem. Also i think i figured it out i can change the maximum under the tileset menu of the database and set up any mix of tilesets. Thanks for clearing it up :)

Yep. Sorry, I didn't think to mention changing the maximum. You can do that in all the database tabs.
