Sorry if this is in wrong plae, there isn't an IGMC 2015 Forum :p

So this is the place to discuss everything about the IGMC this year, from "Should I compete?" to "Here's my plan."

Have fun, and happy IGMC! :)

Here is my plan... don't participate and relax. BD

I've got a game idea in mind if I were to participate but I figure I'll gather resources for next year, maybe come up with designs just never touch the maker and it still counts right? B)

I'll probably try and be a cheerleader for people or something like that. I won't be entering (even if I make a game it'll just be to have the challenge, not for entering) so I figure I'll be useful in other ways.

Keep a routine. I say the same things for students. Plan out your days and make sure you include time for proper meals, taking a walk, petting the cat, and having a decent bed time.

Make an outline of what you need to accomplish day by day to stay on track. And base your daily goals with prior knowledge of how long something takes you. If you have a weakness in the game making process, don't try to overachieve and think you can get it done as quickly as the thing you're best at.

It sounds obvious. But plan an end time for the day. Don't forget to wind down.

Also. The last week of the contest? You'll probably still crunch a bit. I think that just--happens.

But it's OK. You order a pizza, put on some tunes, and after the submission is done you can sleep like a boss.

That last week. It's just like finals.

Thoughts an IGMC contestant might have in the next 30 days

“I’m not going to finish this.”

“This is stupid.”

“I’m not even going to win.”

“I should have a beer.”

“I should just go to bed and pretend this never happened.”

“I don’t know how to do any of this stuff.”

“Maybe I should Google it?”

“Oh, neat! It’s there.”

“ I should have a second beer.”

Looking over the rules, and ensuring commercial ready resources is my first challenge. I'm trying to find some suitable sprite side view battlers.

I missed the last Year Contest, than i saw a rpg maker Game Won the Grant Price (Didnt Played it yet).

So iam thinking about participating this Time.

But not sure which of the Ideas i have i should Focus on.

We are allowed to sent in 2 Entries right? But 2 Games in 1Month Sounds cracy? Maybe a Short one and a bigger one.

Maybe the short one is lucky like Flappy Bird :)

I was going to enter last year, but then some RL issues popped up and I couldn't finish. This year I have to work most of the month, but I still plan on finishing something for the contest. I'm thinking of doing a Monster Hunter X Etrian Odessy thing for gameplay. My only problem is finding a team, or at least a good mapper and eventer, that'll actually stick around long enough to finish the project.

"This code doesn't look pretty enough."

"I'm sure there is a nicer way to write this code."

"I'll just spend an hour or so perusing the Ruby documentation for a better solution."

"This idea is dumb."

Usually I start strong, but then start second guessing myself. I also spend enormous amounts of time polishing an area or code. But, this year I believe I have formulated a project idea that is specifically set up to limit the impact of my weaknesses, and even turn some into advantages. So I'm pretty excited!

This is a fun trend, I'll contribute.

Thoughts an IGMC contestant might have in the next 30 days

"What was I thinking?!"

"Did I really spend 4 hours on that?  It was supposed to take 2 minutes!"

"I can't fix this!  I'll just cut it."

"I hate all the characters.  I should kill everyone off.  That's dramatic right?"

"But it's all equally important!"

"Maybe I should start over with a different concept."

"Aaaaaaaaaaah!"

I really want a IGMC section like the last year. Does any mod know if it's possible?

About the contest: this will confirm my suspicions that I'm good at working under stress/pressure. I don't want to admit it but that might be the case T.T I'm so lazy! That said, I'm really excited about this :D Haven't happened in a while...

I'm seriously not amused with the suddenly changed timezone.. That means there's one day ruined 'cause I can't start at all today -_-

Same here, but eh, I suppose we'll have more time at the end.

Not much you can do about timezones, they will always be annoying ;)

I just wish it was not starting late, I actually lose most of a week due to the start on mid day Tuesday and traveling! Oh well....

BTW, did anyone notice there is a game posted already under completed submissions on the website? Seems someone didn't read the rules. Surprised the judges don't automatically delete those submissions from the site based on a time check.

It's probably an example game.

It is. That site isn't supposed to be live yet, nothing there is set in stone.

I get why they changed the start time, but it's still a bit frustrating. A number of hours difference isn't so big of a deal when you have a whole month but you get a lot of momentum from a good start. Right when it starts I'll be at doctor's office finding out if the surgery worked. Yaaaaaaay. Oh well, maybe I'll be really grateful when the deadline comes and I'm rushing to put it in. Not mad at the people running it or anything, I totally understand how this works from the other end. Just wanting to vent a bit.

here's another RPG Maker remake idea: "Plumbers Don't Wear Ties". I'll salute to whomever does this
I won't finish it today, I only will have time to work on that next Saturday, what a shame... :(
I made something for @LittenDev [as he requested]
It's been a weird while. I've been so torn down that even playing video games has been something I avoided. But I shouldn't forget two things. One, I love RPG Maker for a reason. Two, only way to eat an elephant is a bite at a time.
