I honestly believe Geralt of Riviea is a rip off of Elric of Melnibone.

i feel like this shouldn't be an unpopular opinion but seems like it is -

i don't understand the notion that it's inherently good for everyone to vote and the encouragement of everyone to vote.

if people are not informed, i rather they not vote - because their vote just helps to "muddy the waters."

i think every citizen should strive to be informed - but if someone truly doesn't understand why one candidate would be better or worse than another, then i think abstaining from voting would be more patriotic than putting a vote towards one of them based on a superficial and/or irrelevant metric.

am i missing something?

Since Star Wars was mentioned a few pages back, I was always one of those people who thought that the hate for the Prequels was way overblown, and now the Sequels are getting a similar rep (even though they've gotten middling scores at worst on Metacritic) I don't really understand the vitriol. Like, I'm not a huge fan of them, they did do some things I found a bit 'ehhhhh' (and some of those things are endemic to all Star Wars rather than the Sequels specifically), but like... they're not bad? They're not great either, they're just okay, passable, satisfactory, etc.

I always appreciated the Prequels for trying to build upon the universe; they do genuinely feel like George Lucas' passion project, for better or worse. I didn't hate that casino planet scene from The Last Jedi as much as other folks I know because that felt like a callback to the prequels, with its more worldbuilding focus. If that makes any sense. I just wish they brought back the podracing. Speaking of, the hatred for the CGI in particularly really annoys me; it just comes off as snobbery to me. Like, say what you want about Attack of the Clones' writing, but you can't look at the scenes on Coruscant, or Kamino, and tell me that isn't some of the beautiful design work ever. And don't even get me started on the Kaminoans, I love those alien designs to bits. Heck, one thing that disappointed me about the Sequels was that they seemed to take the anti-CGI attitudes to heart and purposely went back to the Original aesthetic, with the aliens - when they indeed show up - mostly looking like humans in rubber masks and most of the planets obviously being Morocco, or Wales, or Norway, or wherever. :V

The comic book/superhero movie trend of the 2010's was awful. Even if I liked these movies, it's annoying that their popularity has overshadowed every other movie genre in the last decade. The last good ones were the first couple of movies of Nolan's Batman and Raimi's Spiderman in the 00's. Actually, Joker 2019 was good too but that's the exception, not the rule.

Some other random things:

-Cereal is better without milk (I know at least one other person here agrees with me on this :V)
-I think humans are naturally inclined towards morality - evil is the exception rather than the rule.
-Fandoms in general receive way too much flack, and often purely because they - or even a handful of fans - committed the unforgivable crime of being 'cringey'. What even is cringey, anyway? Just let em like what they like. If a 12-year-old Sonic fan can feel expression by drawing themselves as a janky Sonic recolour, leave them to it!
-I don't think Disney's live-action remakes are that bad, either. At least not the ones I've seen. Again, just like the Star Wars sequels, I don't think they're bad, they're just okay. And let's face it, they wouldn't be making them if they didn't think people would want to see them.
-I think rock music is overrated, and the scene in general is rife with snobbery. Heck, most music genres have their fair share of loud snobs. I do like some rock, but not as much as electronic music or jazz. Heck, I don't even think dubstep is that bad.
-As a corollary to the above, 'overrated' does not automatically equal 'bad' - seeing people conflate the two is v. irritating.
-I'm all for technological progress, but 'it's the future' is not a valid reason for developing some new technology.
-On the flipside, I never understood all the hysteria around A.I. Worrying that A.I. poses an existential risk to humanity is like worrying about overpopulation on Mars when we haven't even set foot there yet (to paraphrase one person that I forget who they are).
-I will never understand people who are only capable of relating to human (or human-looking) characters. Emotionally human I get, but physically human?
-I'm tired of video game heroes who use swords. Gimme a mace, damnit. Or a polearm. Or hell, some neat martial arts skills. It's unrealistic to expect someone to punch out a 20-foot-tall aberration, but that's the joy of fiction for yer. It's no less unrealistic than games where you can slash people thousands of times with a giant sword and only 'KO' them.
-I don't like anime that much, and I find a lot of the common tropes in anime kinda baffling. Probably because I'm an Englishperson, but yeah.
-Speaking of which, I think Americans give us way too much credit. :V
-Idealism and trust are underrated. Cynical platitudes like 'everyone's only out for themselves' or 'people only do X to score social points' are a good sign the person saying them is either bitter or are themselves trying to look cool and edgy to score social points.
-'Unpopular Opinions' threads invariably devolve into massive rubbish fires. And yes, I'm well aware that me saying that on this thread makes me a massive hypocrite. :V

Camel meat tastes super good.

Has anyone here tried it? No? Give it a go.

It tastes 100x than cow meat. Sadly it is a bit more expensive.

Funerals, Weddings, and Graduations are just about the most boring things to ever attend. Yep, even if you know the people.
I absolutely agree, weddings are just parties to see people who are already in love become more in love.

Funerals are just the worst... But weddings are more worse.

Just 80% of my motivation on game making lmao, anyone got tips on how to not be unmotivated?
I've signed up for a job training program for people with Asperger's Syndrome. I went to a "test run" today so they could see how well I did with simple jobs, and I amazed them. Most new people do it in 30+ minutes, while I finished in a mere 15 minutes. Gives me time to work on a screenplay for Studio MDHR...
People,I have seen that Someone from China/Chile and London is doing a Vaccine Against COVID-19.
Doing anything that yield good result in the long run is like sowing seeds. With proper care, they will grow and bear fruits. I'm excited for tomorrow. :D
