I think selfishness is the norm. Only too little or too much is bad.

Open World single player games are generally just boring bloat!

Toss that on the same pyre as 'procedurally generated content' and 'live services'.

Give me a custom made experience that is polished from start to end, with graphics that are nice enough to look at, I can finish, put away, and start on a new game.

Just stop it with the quest for insane graphics that sucks up enormous amounts of development time and budget. The Battle passes and road maps.

Just make more solid games.

What we need is the return of the ... Solid B-Game.
The game whose graphics aren't top notch, but it is playable start to finish, it only cost half of a AAA game, and when it's done you feel fulfilled.

This is not against any individual artist, but a convention.

Females in anime strive overhard to be depicted as cute. One of the stock ways of doing this is giving them knock knees and feet that are turned in. So much so that many would have difficulty walking on a flat, paved road, let alone over difficult terrain.

Why would anyone want such a liability in their party when they're going after the Big Bad?

This is but one of the things I have against the anime style. I think that style is terrible.

And don't worry about my wellbeing. I have already built my bunker to hide in when others read this.

@Kes Gasp! You have broken the 11th unwritten Commandment.

Thou shalt not criticize anime is any way. It is the perfect medium and shall not be subjected to blashemy!

I guess those cute inwards feet are just an exaggeration of the different leg stances males and females have due to their different pelvis shapes. If you ever happen to have a femur only, you can already do a good guess about the gender, as those have different angles.
Working with human skeletons is fun! ;D

Tom Cruise was not in "Top Gun."

(Did I do this correctly?)

That's what I'm $%@#ing talking about!

Edit: to keep this on topic, another unpopular opinion of mine is front view battle systems. Always been a fan of em.

An unpopular opinion I have in RPG's?
"Crafting being the only source for great items/equipment or being required is a waste of my time and energy."
Some powerful items if I choose to invest? Yes. An extra way to get some items or gold? Sure. But when it's necessary? Blarg, no thanks.

Crafting is only necessary for survival/base-building games. Where you repeatedly make items with different components. In RPG where you mostly just one-time upgrade your arsenal, it's not necessary :p

Putting in 'Power Charge' or 'Magic Charge' in a game is an utter waste of time.
I use a turn to charge up so that my next turn deals double damage. That is no better than dealing the normal amount of damage in both turns.
Way back in 7th Saga, defending increased power and I think it doubled it. But in practice, it increased damage a lot more because of high defenses being pretty common. Combined with the fact you are defending for a turn, it was near necessary to do.

But I agree, doubling damage makes it largely worthless. Either it should last longer or do more.

Depends. If you have a skill that deals 200 damage and a normal attack that 50 damage. The skill has a cooldown so you can't spam it every turn. The comparison would be 250 damage vs 400 damage in 2 turns.

I'm not sure what point you are making. If you have a charge skill that deals quadruple damage every other turn, that's great. If you have a skill that does less than double damage, that's even worse than just double.

Ohh, I have one!

I love it when games make it possible to break them.

I always feel like a genius when I discover some cheesy tactics or unintended mechanics in games :p

Even just unbalanced games sometimes, but its more fun if its something I discover as opposed to hearing about it beforehand ofc.

Perhaps we have a different concept of "charge attack". For me, a better version of a charge attack is not about a single skill that is executed in the next turn. But a status effect. You apply a status effect to increase your damage dealt in the next turn, then use it with whatever skill in the next turn. You can waste it on a normal attack if you want to.

I like the concept of a charge attack. Especially when there's an occasional exploit to it.
