lol To be more specific, at age 15 you can apply for a learner's permit, which requires the passage of a multi-choice exam. Once you have that permit, you have to wait 1 year before attempting a checkride to get your license. Within this year, your are supposed to be learning to drive. The catch is, there is no set criteria of what you should be learning, nor is there any requirement of proof that you have been learning/practicing. No logs, no responsible teacher signing you off, just wait a year. That's it.
Meanwhile, our neighboring state just did away with the checkride altogether. Over there, you wait a year, and the license is yours!
