Others should drive safely :p

Naaah, it's perfectly sane to risk your own life and others in order to get to your destination 2 minutes earlier xD

@Kes Considering where I live learning to drive isn't even a requirement in order to hold a license, that sarcasm is actually 100% plausible XD

@Willibab That's exactly how I would put it! Seriously I wish these people could be charged with attempted homocide. But in 'murica, we blame the object of destruction, not the wielder. :p

More unpopular and offensive opinions on driving: Nobody needs more than 110 horsepower, 4 cylinders, or fast acceleration. Performance cars belong on a track with competitors, not on a road with commuters. License tests should actually test you. Testosterone-sucking vehicles such as pickups, Dodge Chargers and Challengers, should require high-risk insurance :p

I had no idea such a place existed. I think I need to go and lie down for a while now.

@Kes lol To be more specific, at age 15 you can apply for a learner's permit, which requires the passage of a multi-choice exam. Once you have that permit, you have to wait 1 year before attempting a checkride to get your license. Within this year, your are supposed to be learning to drive. The catch is, there is no set criteria of what you should be learning, nor is there any requirement of proof that you have been learning/practicing. No logs, no responsible teacher signing you off, just wait a year. That's it.

Meanwhile, our neighboring state just did away with the checkride altogether. Over there, you wait a year, and the license is yours!

My controversial "Tom Cruise wasn't in Top Gun" take aside, I now feel like giving a few real answers.

1. I loved Final Fantasy VIII's Junction system. I sunk lots of time into tinkering with combinations. I got a thrill out of making Squall's ATB gauge fill up nearly instantly by junctioning 100 Haste spells, haha.

2. Final Fantasy V is one of the worst FFs. The music isn't memorable by FF standards. The graphics are bland (and not because it's old technology -- FFVI and Chrono Trigger are still pretty). The storyline is super bland. The characters aren't memorable. Yes, the job system is neat, but some attacks were useless or had bugs.

3. Chrono Cross deserves love, too. It's a top-20 all-time game for me, with a top-5 all-time soundtrack. The environments were lovely for the time. Even if much of the large party cast was dumb, the story itself was great. It gave me chills back in the day whenever a Trigger connection was revealed. Not to mention, the amount of work the devs put into the NPC and party dialogue was insane, even by 2023 standards.

4. Aerith over Tifa. I said what I said.

A lot of drivers underestimate the danger due to driving being easy and ofc...99% of the time things go fine. But the 1% that crashed also thought the same thing.

If it was up to me, driving would be automated. Yes, I trust computers more then humans when it comes to driving. Its not even remotely close xD

From what I've heard, automated driving is already much better than human driving, but has to be even better to pass as usable because of an inherent distrust of computers and "someone else driving".

Every single game has a lesson to be learned for developers. You want to know what works? Go play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for the NES to see every assumption you made broken. You want to know why you don't like a genre? Go play the best and worst games in it.

This is but one of the things I have against the anime style.
On the topic of anime pet peeves, I hate characters that are drawn with uber long, stick thin legs. Or really, really, REALLY thin waists. Or arms that look too short... probably because the legs are TOO LONG

Drives me up a wall every time I see it.

I kinda feel what I just said isn't "unpopular", soo XD

Just read this. I thought this was already common. Here, change the age from 15 to 17 (or 18), instead of waiting for a year to pass after the multi-choice exam, you wait for a few days (or a week) to get into the practice exam because they assume you already can do it. But then again, the practice exam was brutal (kind of).

Man…I could probably go on about driving forever. A huge pet peeve of mine is stop signs. It’s a stop sign, not a “slow down and almost stop until you look” sign.

Just recently watched Morbius. Not as terrible as I keep hearing it is (not good, but I didn't feel like I wasted two hours of my life watching it). I'd far rather watch it over Eternals, that is definitely the worst superhero movie I've ever seen.

Probably not that unpopular, but you know what? Lawn people. If you take amazing care of your lawn and enjoy it, that’s fine of course. But, have you ever lived next to a Terry?

Terry knocks on your door Sunday afternoon because there is a stick in your yard. “Can you please move your unsightly stick?” Terry pretends that he just shoo’ed off the city from fining you while you were at the grocery store. “No, you didn’t Terry.” “How do I know that Terry? Because the ordinance is 8 inches high and my lawn is at maximum 3 inches high.” Terry is displeased you have so much clover in your backyard.

You know Terry, you’re welcome to the stick in my yard to replace the one that fell out of your bum.

There are only two reasons I do anything with my lawn and yard. My Home Owners' Association (HOA) and my wife.

@ZombieKidzRule OMG. I would die in an HOA. I bet I would not even be able to hang all my bird feeders or something asinine because of the CC&Rs. I feed the cats. IT’S ME. I DID IT. I know a lot of people would choose no HOA if the options were more available but after all I’ve seen underwriting mortgages you could not PAY me to live in an HOA.

I've always thought that living in an HOA would be hilarious. Could you imagine the hijinks you could get up to at 3:00 a.m.? I mean, sneaking out into the neighborhood and doing stuff to other peoples' yards and houses in order to get them fined and harassed by the HOA?

You dang right, I'd be dumping broken pieces of cars from the junk yard in the front lawns of the HOA Leaders at 3 a.m.. Or putting up unsightly other nonsense in the yards of other neighbors. Everyone would get a piece of the "you're fined!" action until everyone decides to abolish it... or they figure out I'm doing it.

They'd probably never figure out it was me.
Even if they did, it's not like I'd be fined for anything more than "littering". Even then, I could simply claim that it was a gift, they were asleep at 3:00 a.m., so I just left it in their yeard to get it later.

Yeah, we have always avoided HOAs, but all new construction where we are have HOAs, at least to start with. Once the builder completes construction and turns over the administration, most neighborhoods reduce their HOAs down to pretty much nothing. Just enough to maintain the common areas like neighborhood pool and playground. So we are just biding our time. It takes a few years.

...time to show how oblivious and disconnected I am. What's this HOA you're speaking of? It sounds like some government authority that enforces pretty lawns. :\
