I just wanted to post and say that I listened to some of your stuff and I like what I hear. I am starting music production for video games as well, and as I have only been doing this about a year, I was wondering if you had some pointers you could give to a naive upstart. I've been into music for a long time, and in love with video games for even longer. I started messing around with music making software when I was in 9th grade (1999), and enjoyed doing it as a 'time killer'. Now that I am an adult and work in a laid-back IT environment, there is a wide gambit of different skills my co-workers have. One of my co-workers, who I also went to college with, had an interest in Super Mario Bros. X (homebrew Mario bros. game creator/editor if you arent familiar with it). He had told me he wanted to include all original music and I told him I could give it a shot. 40 some-odd tracks later, the project was ultimately put on the back burner, as he gained interest in RPG Maker. I recently started making songs for his RPG about 2 months ago or so, as well as doing songs for another co-worker that is ironically making his own RPG using the same program. I have gathered them together to form a 17 track album set to release later this year (after I struggle to work my way through a 16 bit album art design). None of my new songs for the two RPGs are online as of yet, but I do have 2 albums up from the untitled Super Mario Bros. project. I was wondering if you, as a fellow music creator, would mind listening to some of my stuff and critiquing it if you will. I know some of the songs are quite basic, but being as though it was a Mario Bros game, I had to keep with the classic Mario style sound. My newer stuff has given me a chance to take a more artistic approach, as they are not limited to the classic bleeps and bloops of older style games. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and keep up the good work.
