Using the cover art to supplement the pre-order characters?

Hi there, I tried to see if this had been answered elsewhere but I must be terrible at using the forum search tools, haha!

I pre-ordered RPG Maker MV, and with it came some amazing assets; namely the portraits and facesets for the cover characters!

My question: am I also allowed to use the cover art itself, to edit and add to the game to supplement the portraits that I have? Some of them are in great action poses that I would love to cut out and use for action scenes or skill cut-ins. I'm speaking of images like this one, in particular.

Would love to have an answer before I start ripping pieces of it apart for my project and then get told I'm doing something I shouldn't when I post progress and such!

Love you folks here on the forums, and thanks for always being rad and supportive.

(I sure hope this is the right place to ask this... ha  :rswt: )

As long as you own the maker you should be fine.

Thanks! It makes sense. I was just worried I missed something, just in case... y'know?

@Uzuki: do not assume you know the official answer for questions like these, art licences can be very complex.

@aboynamedearth: please do not take answers from regular forum users as official answers, but wait for an official answer from a Degica employee.

Edit: ninja'd

Oh... I'm sorry, I'm an idiot.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll wait for an official answer!

Official answer:

As long as it's used in RPG Maker MV and non-commercially, yes. If it's for commercial use in MV, please contact me via PM and I'll see what we can do. :)
Great! Thanks for the answer! <3

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
