Using Weapon Skill Plugin

So I set up 2 attacks using Yanfly's action sequence.  001 is the regular attack and I want to use it for long range attacks. Bows and guns etc..  Skill012 is also named attack and is exactly the same as 001 but has an Action Sequence added to move the player closer to the target for short range weapons (sword, axe etc...)

I turned on weaponskills plugin and under all short range weapons entered the code <skill_id:12> as it showed in the plugin.  So now my default attack should perform skill 12 with short range weapons but it doesn't it still uses skill one.

The action sequence works fine so I can only imagine is the weapons skill thats not working.

I've disable all the plugins except Weapon Skills and still nothing.

Any help much appreciated.

Did you use the "action effect" note tag? rewatch the RPGMaker Channel videos on Yanfly's action sequences. Action effect is the command that causes the action to actually affect the target.

I copied it straight for Yanfly's code.  it works fine its the various weapons not changing default attack skill thats the problem.

I am having this same problem.


Ah. All that you have to do after activating the plugin is restart the client. It apparently takes effect after the reboot.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
