Long ago, a war known as the First Ragnarok broke out
between the humanoid Varnir and the demi-human Alterkin.
A cruel and bloody war that resulted in many casualties,
and led several races into slavery at the hands of the Varnir. Or worse, extinction.
While some races have escaped such a fate, there is still
much tension between the Varnir and the Alterkin.
Many view the Alterkin as being no different
than the wild creatures that roam the land.
Seeing them as abominations, the Valhallan
Empire has begun prosecuting various Alterkin tribes.
Our journey begins in the Valhallan capital, with a young
imperial recruit dreaming to become a knight.
This young man's name is...Lloyd Vanheim.
Will he stand by his liege, or will the empire's actions
lead him to seek the truth and discover their dark secrets?

Valhallan Empire:
A militaristic nation and longtime ally of
the Republic of Asgard, situated in central Midgard.
It's current ruler, King Valgus, displays a great
resentment towards the Alterkin tribes.

Balmung Republic:
A small trading nation governed by a mercantile oligarchy.
It is situated in the southern region of the Midgard Continent and
includes Balmung Village, Sigurd Harbor, and the Balmung Lighthouse.

Sylvan Council:
A loosely-affiliated council of various nomadic tribes,
it's members primarily include elves,
dwarves, orcs, and centaurs.

Kingdom of Tarvos:
A warrior nation inhabited by the Minotaur tribe
whose ruler is chosen based on physical strength,
it is situated in the Tarvos Desert in the
eastern region of the Midgard Continent.
Far to the south of this desert nation lies Port Valendia.

Theocracy of Ithos:
An island nation governed by a matriarchal theocracy.
It is home to the Lamia tribe of Alterkin.

Republic of Asgard:
The largest and most advanced nation in the known world,
situated in the northernmost region of the Midgard Continent
and governed by a democratic autocracy.
It's current ruler, Duke Olan, is rumored to be funding
a resistance movement seeking freedom for the enslaved Alterkin.
Though, there is currently no real evidence to prove these claims.

Dominion of Carnwennan:
A volcanic nation situated on an island in the
southern hemisphere of the known world.
It is inhabited primarily by the Lucavi tribe,
and is currently led by Lord Gurgurant of House Ardavia.

Lloyd Vanheim:
The protagonist of our tale.
He is a new recruit in the Valhallan Army,
who aspires to become a full-fledged knight.
However, he soon learns of the empire's vile actions
and the injustice the Alterkin face at their hands.

Vynia Ardavia:
A Lucavi girl targeted by
the Valhallan imperial soldiers.
Her formal mannerisms
suggest a regal upbringing.

Desmond Raustenberg:

A priest hailing from the
mountainside, Balmung Village.
He devotes himself and
his studies to the goddess.

Freja Ortega:

The leader of a group of bandits
centered in the Kingdom of Tarvos.
She was taught the way of the axe
by her father and strives to
follow in his footsteps.

Utgar Bal'dolg:

An Orcish warrior
forced into slavery
alongside his wife and child.
He seeks freedom for
himself and his family.

Durant Vanheim:
A renowned general of Asgard,
and one of Duke Olan's most trusted advisors.
He has taught Lloyd much in
the ways of swordsmanship and chivalry.

Elegost Greenwood:
An elven general serving
Councilor Lorelai of the Sylvan Council.
He is praised as the greatest archer of Alfenheim.

Lazuli Veniccio:
A Valendian woman who
lost her parents at sea.
She spent her childhood living on
the streets, relying on thievery to survive.
She now leads a group of pirates, believing her
parents may still be out there somewhere.

Vayl Zephier:
A knight of Valinor,
and Lloyd's superior officer.
His loyalty has begun to waver
due to the empire's recent actions.

--An in-depth quest system with several sidequests to complete, each of which will provide characterization and backstories for the quest NPC's. --An arena where you will eventually be able to battle against the heroes of previous RM's upon reaching the higher ranks. Fight against Aluxes, Ralph, Alex, and others!

--An in-menu "Dictionary" that provides you with additional info on the people and places, and lore that makes up the world as you encounter them.
(Other features are subject to change, and some features may be added or removed in the final product.

(Sorry, I have no screenshots to offer just yet, since this is still very much in the early phases of development. I will update this topic with some screenshots once I have everything up to the first dungeon fully mapped out and evented.)

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
