I've been trying to set a variable that changes each time the actor gains a new level
I tried to use control variable = Actor Level. But it didn't work.
I tried it differently, changing it to be equal to the MHP, and it worked. :/ It seems that only with levels it doesn't work.

it does work - you just didn't understand how it works.

the control variable command sets the variable to the level the actor has in that moment - nothing else.
so the control variable command has to be repeated whenever you want to check the level - there is no automatic update anywhere.

and it's the same for all other actor data - the command never automatically updates, the control variable command always has to be repeated to update the content of the variable.

If you tell us what you want that info for we might be able to tell you which of the several ways would be the best for the updating.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
