Victory ME play only in one battle?

I do not have a Victory theme in my game, and so the box 'Battle End' on the Systems tab is not checked.

However, the final boss battle is a bit flat without something with a bit of oomph at the end, so I want to have a victory ME play there, and only there.  What I have tried so far does not work.  It is this.

Common Event set to parallel process and conditioned by the switch 'Battle End' ON

There is a command to play the ME and then turn the switch OFF

In the troop event, at turn 0, I turn the switch 'Battle End' ON.

However, this doesn't play the ME while on the battle screen, but only after the player returns to the map, where other things are happening, so this will not do.

Is there some cunning way of eventing this?  Or maybe an exotic script call?  Or perhaps something else incredibly obvious which I have managed to overlook?

In RMXP you can change the victory fanfare theme within an event, using the command "Change Battle End ME". Can't you do that in RMVXAce ? If you can, just put that before triggering the battle with the final boss.

Have you tried on Troops Eventing Condition Enemy's HP is 0% or below to trigger it?

I assume you use VX Ave by the way.

module BattleManager def self.play_battle_end_me $game_system.battle_end_me.play if $game_switches[12] endendThis tiny script should do it! Change the 12 to the switch ID of any switch. Victory music only plays if that switch is on!

@Schlangan - that was the obvious something that I overlooked.  Yeah, of course that works.

@Dreadshadow - I thought of doing that, but as boss has minions and I have no way of knowing which enemy will be the last, it could run too soon.

@kaimonkey - great little snippet which I'm wondering if I could use to run the victory theme outside of battle as well.  Hmm, I shall have to experiment with that.
