~ The more animated the scene is, the more player attention it can grab.
So wouldn't you agree that a video, running in the map's background, can be a great tool for that?
~ What I want to use: a plugin that can run a video, as a parallax background, that the player-sprite can walk on.
(Technically speaking, it could include changing the layer the video plays on, so it's under the map layer and player can walk over it. And allowing the video to play in parallel so player can interact with other events while it plays. And making the video loop.)
I want to use motion backgrounds like these:
...as parallax background to my maps.
~ This can open up great visual spectacle, out of what RPG Maker can do.
Picture this, In a cliff scene, we can have a motion background of a sky or the sun beyond the edge of the map:
~ Instead of using animated water tiles, we can use a video of animated water (under the map):
~ We can have trippy scenes running in the background for the dream sequences in our games:
~ This feature, this plugin, can open up opportunities to create stunning, attention grabbing scenes.
Does This Plugin Already Exist?
-> I have around 6000+ MV plugins. And none of them provide this feature.
Which does make me think that this feature might not be possible at all... haha...
Potential compatibility issues with my project:
->If this plugin is made, I'll be using it immediately in my following game:
sigmasuccour.itch.io
This is my 5th published project in 3 years with RPG Maker, and I'm using around 160+ plugins in it.
I'm not using any other video-related plugin in here. And barely using any parallax plugins. (Only foreground.js and tintparallax.js)
So I don't picture there being that much compatibility issues. (I hope...)
Inspiration:
->My inspiration for this is simply... the assets are there. Thousands of motion backgrounds. All we need is a tool to use them in our game.
In my games, there are scenes where the map or environment doesn't matter. Because the character interaction is the focus (which might be going on in a virtual, or mental space). So for these sort of scenes, I want to use these videos as a map. To keep the scene around animated.
Does this make sense?
