Might wanna read my post again. It is my favorite Fallout (and honestly the best), so I do recommend people play it.
And that's why @JohnDoeNews and I are surprised by your choice. Fine, I'll let you suffer as much as you wanna do it. :p

The EA rerelease of Dungeon Keeper. They took a game about *being an evil overlord building a dungeon to destroy heroes* and made it a soulless microtransaction-laden mess. I will never forgive them.

@Trihan Have you tried War For the Overworld? The monsters are not as cool/funny, but it's well done.

You should probably stay away from Zuma. That frog is zero help because it never gives me the right ball when I need it most. Must be the grandchild of Tetris.

MMOs with big guilds, where suddenly you realize that you go there as if to work. And some random people (RL and GM) own your time.

Anyway, my contribution to this topic is to stay away from Fallout: New Vegas on PC unless you're following the Viva New Vegas mod guide. Without its guidance, you will find your game crashing all too often.
Hey well at least New Vegas can run without mods, though I'd agree if you are playing on pc it would be foolish not to. Great jumping off point for new modders too, the community really has that game optimized to hell and back and setup as user friendly and plug and play as possible (certainly moreso than the AAA company that gets paid money could ever dream of being...which is depressing really. These days Bethesda seem more like parasites hoarding a game engine than serious devs when you think about it. ) Fallout 3 for more than a decade had to be ported into New Vegas as Tale of two Wastelands just to run on a pc operating on anything past vista.

Supposedly Bethesda randomly decided to support it after over a decade of neglect and actually patched it somewhat recently or so I've been told. But after all the beating my head against the wall before finally giving in and setting up one of the most complicated and conflict-prone mod set ups around just to make the game work, I'm not about to uncouple all that and risk being stuck with a vanilla game that won't run at all again. Instead Fallout just gets its own external hard drive with two separate modded instances of Fallout New Vegas, one for a fully modded New Vegas and one that's literally just modded to emulate Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 on Steam needed Games for Windows Live to run properly, which has been defunct for years. It did indeed get an update to run without it, though the GOG version has been properly sorted for quite a while, so no idea why it took so long for the Steam version to get fixed.

Okay, I did read it again as you suggested, and this is what it says:

Anyway, my contribution to this topic is to stay away from Fallout: New Vegas on PC unless you're following the Viva New Vegas mod guide. Without its guidance, you will find your game crashing all too often.
Maybe I understood it wrong, but that didn't sound like it was your favorite game to me. :p Reading it again didnt change that. Haha.

I did play NV without mods on Xbox 360, but I didnt notice much crashing. I liked how you could build your own weapons in it.

My favorite is fallout 4. And the worst of them all is 76.

That is also probably my answer to the question which game to stay away from: Fallout 76.

I didn't mention anything about favorites or non-favorites in my post. I just advised not to play it on PC unless you use Viva New Vegas to get it stable. I didn't say anything about console. Just because it's my favorite Fallout doesn't mean I'm going to just rec it without warning, as it does tend to crash a lot on its own.

That about the console version wasnt about your experience, but that was about mine.

Just because it's my favorite Fallout doesn't mean I'm going to just rec it without warning, as it does tend to crash a lot on its own.
So, the question was which game should we stay away from, which game would you not recommend. Your answer was NV. You see how, even though you didnt say it, it seems like it isnt your favorite game? That is all I tried to say.

I didnt mean anything with it. I just misunderstood your post, and found it all a bit confusing.

But my post lays out the specific situation in which I don't recommend it. I literally say "unless you use the Viva New Vegas mod guide". That means as long as you do use said guide, you'll be good to go. It being my favorite Fallout game (not my favorite game period, btw) has no bearing on anything I said. I didn't want to be biased.

Any online/live service game with lootboxes/gacha/pay-to-win.
A thing to remember about which games you should stay away from is that any game you don't stay away from is a game you are (indirectly or otherwise) supporting and telling developers you want.

You know what other games suck? Ones that are using your computer for nongaming purposes. I remember some Among Us rip off game was found to use your computer to mine bitcoins while you were playing. Probably best to avoid those. If I hear about more games like that, I'll come back and post them in the thread.

I remember accidentally buying Divinity II: Developer's Cut thinking it was Divinity: Original Sin II. I didn't have any issues getting it to run, and it was pretty interesting.
Personally the game I'd recommend against getting is Persona 3 Reloaded. Sure, it isn't out yet, but we already know they're charging $70 for a remake that's missing content from both previous remakes, the most important missing content being the female protagonist. You can just get a more complete version for $20 in the form of Persona 3 Portable's port.

I personally cannot picture the protagonist of Persona 3 being anyone else other than Makoto Yuki, the girl just didn't work for me, like the female Shepard in Mass Effect, so I couldn't care less if they added her or not.
And sorry, but I'm totally gonna buy P3 Reloaded, it looks too awesome to pass, didn't really like P3P, it felt clunky and frustrating, but I enjoyed P3 FES (only The Journey, the Answer was boring as sin).
Although tbh here, Persona 3 and its depressing theme is totally not for me, Persona 4 Golden is a much better game overall and it's more lighthearted, which is something I prefer.
The end of P3's storyline is probably better and more epic, IMHO, but P4 has better pacing throughout. #P4Team

P3P may have the FeMC, but I dislike the way the game is presented due to being made for PSP originally. I dunno why P3R lacks her, but it shouldn't stop new fans from buying it to see what P3 is like.

Likewise, I cannot picture the protagonist of Persona 3 being anyone other than Kotone. MaleMC was just completely unappealing to me, due to his terrible personality and forced romance.

Doesn't make much sense what you say, because in the original Persona 3 and in FES, there's no female character, she was just added later and in the inferior psp version (I'm surprised you like it because almost nobody who played the PS2 originals does).
Makoto has always been the protagonist and the official face of the game.

To each their own I guess, I personally find her boring, she doesn't have the "Savior" vibes that Makoto has.
He is actually the best thing of Persona 3, the game itself has so many flaws but Makoto is totally not one of them. Ultimately he "saves" even the game itself imho.

Yknow what? Im seriously considering recruiting a manager to oversee my games development.
Because I cannot focus or complete these tasks by myself. I need someone to give me orders, without having them be my boss.
