Visible changes when equipping gear?

What are some of my options for making changes for the in-battle characters to show what gear they have equipped?

I would like the in-battle characters to look like they are wearing more armor as the game progresses that is true to what they have equipped.

Search for 'Visual Equip' on the complete plugins, there is at last one plugin that do this.
