Has anyone found a way to make Visustella's Radial light for the player to work?

here is what I'm trying. An event checks if the Player has the Torch Item in inventory. If they do, it enables the radial light. The plugin parameters has it disabled by default.

I also tried note tags in the item notebox.

Now. I can get it to work for conical, the problem is that it feels immersion breaking. The player is not holding a flash light. They are holding a torch so it would make more sense to have a circle of light. If there is a better plugin that can do this, Im all for it.

THANKS!

I'm afraid that no radial light out-of-the-box for the player was exactly the reason I passed up this plugin. Having said that... would it perhaps work with having an invisible event with a radial light under the player that matches each and every movement of the player?

There's a Japanese plugin here that seems to have radial lights for players. I'll check it out and get back.

EDIT: I just looked and actually, the plugin has wonderful instructions in English

Okay, I had some time to test this and it's working pretty well as far as I can tell. Below screenshot has a radial light around the player, with a radius of 2. The center of the lake has a radius of 8.

The player light is set using plugin commands, on some other map event:

* 〇 SetCharLight evId r c a / setCharLight
* evId : -1:player, 0:This event, 1..:EventID
* r : radius(1 = 1 square)
* c : color index(Erase with 0)
* a : amplitude(Specify from 0-100 / No blinking at 0 / Not set is 0)

The light emanating from the lake is set using annotations in an event set in the center of the lake:

* 〇 CharLight r c a
* r : radius(1 = 1 square)
* c : color index
* a : amplitude(Specify from 0-100 / No blinking at 0 / Not set is 0)
* - Lights are displayed around this event.
* - This command applies only to the first annotation of the execution.

color indexes are RGBs that you set in the plugin parameters.

Pretty happy with it personally.

I'm just gonna remove the Dark Spells from my game. They wouldn't be fighting Gods or Angels. So why have it?
Every day I'm getting rough-outs of another sprite sheet or two. Getting real close to just needing to make new original stuff and editing my tables and chairs to look correct for the taller sprites is among the top of the revisions list.
