Is it normal for audio inconsistencies to occur between different computers when using MV?

With my previous computer I had to have most of the audio in my project set to 50 percent or even lower at times to sound pleasant.

I now have a new computer and with the same audio settings I can barely hear anything unless I crank up the settings to 100. And even then it's subdued at times depending on the track.

Both use Realtek R audio speakers.
Both have the latest audio drivers installed.
The overlyloud was an HP 17t-by400
And the quiet one is an Acer Nitro 5

This makes programming volume a problem because I'm not sure if the volume will be the same for players depending on what computer they use.

The Acer Nitro is brand new out of the box today.
The HP I purchased last December but it unfortunately stopped working. So I'm working solely on the Nitro at this point.

I'm unsure why there's such a drastic difference in volume.

If anyone has a suggestion I'm all ears.

I'm using different laptop for few weeks,
and yes there does volume difference when I'm using this current one.
The current one is louder even at lower volume.

The difference doesn't only end there.
There's difference of frequencies and panning too.
In my previous laptop, it's more bassy.
Right speaker sounds a lot more subdued
(which makes mixing a bit challenging,
because the volume balance will go out the window sometimes when I move my music to phone).

The laptop I'm using now seems to be more accurate in terms of
frequency distribution and panning.

Anyway, I think you don't need to worry about volume inconsistency between different computer.
What should be considered is volume consistency between music tracks in your game. :D

*But if it's hard to hear the music on your new computer,
you can adjust the sound settings.

Yeah all computers play all sounds differently depending on hardware. There's no way to handle that short of allowing players to adjust your volume. Something that sounds just right on one computer can be loud enough to wake the dead on another computer.

Is this something that is happening ONLY for audio in RPG Maker? Or is it ALL audio, whether you are watching something on YouTube or listening to music?

The audio on this new laptop is quieter in general than my previous one although it's most noticeable in MV. Probably due to the fact that the volume is still set to around 50% or lower for most music in my project. It was a good balance on my older laptop as I said but it's far too quiet now.
YouTube and other audio is a bit subdued as well but it's nothing too bad.

It seems like it is not an MV issue then?

Yes, different sound cards function differently - that's why you'll notice your Windows volume is measured in a percentage, not decibels.

That's why it's common to add a volume control option to your game via a plugin.

Hmm. It seems the issue is more of a computer thing.

I do have a volume option on my project's title screen.
I suppose that will have to do.

Thanks for the help everyone.

For a long time I always consider XP soundtracks as the best one.
Just listened to some of MZ tracks from the free version.
It's... Quite mindblowing. xD
Only listened to the battles, towns, and fields.
But I'm sure the rest are equally good. :D
What do you guys want to see for the new Jump into Javascript? A continuation of the rpg_objects, or would you prefer a "lesson 0" where I go back to the absolute basics of Javascript and cover the fundamentals of the language and its construction?
Hey RPG members!!

How do you finish projects? Some new game developers start off strong but end up losing momentum. What keeps you motivated while working on new projects?
