V's Awesome Options v1.4
Written

Introduction

This script allows you to change different aspects of the Title, Menu, End Game and Gameover Screens as well as window opacity and the Default Font settings. Check out the feature's spoiler for a more detailed description. I'm always open to suggestions if anyone has any other option ideas.

Features

- v0.1

- Allows you to use custom BG's in all the menus
- Change the zoom and x/y values of the BG
- Choose to use a BGM for the menu
- Allows you to display actor graphics in front of the faces
- v0.2

- Gives the option for a mid-ground layer in the title page
- Change the zoom and x/y values of each of the layers
- Choose to use a BGM and change the pitch and volume for the title and gameover screens ( allows for more control of pitch )
- Allows you to change the gameover BG the same as the menu BG.
- v0.3

- Fixed a bug with the default draw title option
- Allows you to change the size and style of the draw title font
- Now gives the option to change all the windows in the game's opacity
- There are new default font options

same options as the title

- I was asked to add video features ( And there will be more! ), so I've added an option for an Intro Movie

that plays before the Title Page

- I have added options to use and customize SE that play automatically every time a balloon pops up.
- I have also added a feature to play a SE upon collision with a non-passable object.

How do I get it to modify just the title screen? I turned everything off, but I have an issue with this part

 Affect_Window_Boarders            = true
  Window_Opacity                    = 0

It makes my title screen work great, but it removes the borders to my in game menu screen.

I am using Galvs custom menu if that helps any.

I would say that if you only want this script for the title screen, then you shoud think about just using my newest script V's CATS It can do the same thing and way more.  If you are using it for more then that let me know exactly what parts and I can help you out.

Yeah I just want it for the title screen. I will try out the script you suggested and let you know if it works.

Edit:

I don't understand how to use that script to make my title screen look the way it does in this picture. It seems the other script uses predefined pictures for new game etc? Or maybe it is just something I am not understanding?

Any help would be appreciated. Here is the what I am trying to make the title screen look.

Thanks! The image was one I found, and the title screen name was created by Julius Lioncourt. I think he used gimp. I am not sure, I'm not really a graphics person.

How come the music resets when you select a submenu? Is there any way around this?

Other than that, it's a great script. The only other issue I seem to have is the game crashes when you select Quit from the in-game menus, and then press ESC to cancel. The error code is:

Script 'Sprite_Base' line 33: RGSSError occured.

disposed sprite.
Line 33 of 'Sprite_Base' is: "super"

  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------

  # * Frame Update

  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------

  def update

    super

    update_animation

    @@ani_checker.clear

    @@ani_spr_checker.clear

  end

Any ideas how to fix that as well?

I believe it's an issue that began to occur after I installed your script.

Can you check that for sure?

And about the music, sorry but, there is no easy fix. I will be putting out a new menu system soon, I hope it can fix this issue for you.

I'll check that ASAP. Right now, Steam is giving me some troubles, and I can't log on.

I'll be looking forward to that new menu system, too! It's a minor issue, but the music changing so rapidly as you navigate submenus is kind of offputting.

EDIT: The issue I mentioned earlier (disposed sprite) with your script: It's an issue with Yanfly's menu cursor script, in fact. Sorry about that

SECOND EDIT: My only other suggestion for a quick edit to this script, one I could use. Could you possibly replicate the horizontal menu orientation of the main menu with the "To Title" / "To Desktop" / "Cancel" submenu?

When I use V's Awesome Options v1.4, I notice one thing that I can't figure out to fix. I have isolated this problem which I believe is caused by this script. When I load a saved game, the menu music is still playing, instead of the music I selected for that current map.

How can I fix this?

I've tried numerous ideas and even searched hard on internet.

This was my last option.

Please Help!!!

He will have to add a patch to fix that, as the way RPG Maker is set up, it saves to the save file the music currently playing, which in your case is the menu music. It can be fixed with a patch to revert the music back to the map music before you save, but the script author will have to add that in.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
