It looks pretty good! I can see that with just this script people can replicate what a lot of other scripts do by default. But with this one they have more freedom to do what they desire.

I think it could use some extra features though, it still has some harsh limitations.

My suggestions are:

-Enable animated graphics: Suffix "_1" to "_8" for example as the frames numbers. (enable the choice to either loop or not loop)

-Add Wave Effects: These can do some pretty neat stuff.

-Add Blending Options: I can see this work pretty good if I wanted to simulate some kind of particle effect with an image for example. It would work great if combined with the suggestion above too!

-Add a glowing effect: This would work great when choosing "new game", "load" or "quit", and probably to something else the user would like.

Anyway, these are my suggestions. I think the script it's great, but it can be greater ;)

@Shin sorry shin, Kerbonklin is right, and honestly I wouldn't even know how to go about doing that. If someone else whould like to do it for me that would be great though.

@BustedEd I will see about adding some of your requests. I was alreay thinking of adding the frame animations and the multiple animations feature. Those were both something I planned on adding from the start but it will take a little more time for me to work in there. I just wanted to get some feed back to see if it was worth upgrading, but I think the others ideas are great and I will try to add them in the next update.

But then you won't see the animations, and that's what really matters with this script anyways.

Since i'm bored, i'll download the demo and make a GIF of it using Camtasia Studio. I'll edit when it's done.

Edit:

Ignore the black bar on the bottom, my recorder does that for RM application-window-locking.

Also ignore any crappy renderings lul, but it looks normal and great in real-time.

Feel free to put this in the OP.

Yeah but it's animated soo... Not to mention it's a very small demo, only 1.7 MB. Should only take a few minutes even with bad internet. Sorry. I mean even just explaining what it could done would be better then a still shot. I will update the discription for you though, to be more specific on what it can do.

@Kerbonklin~ Thank you and by all means if you want to change the animations go ahead. I just threw those in there for testing really.

@BustedEd~Thank you very much! Let me know how it works out for you.

@Kerbonklin~ Thank you so much for that. It helps to make my bad explaining more visable.

@everyone~I am almost done with the cursor animation tag. I am just going to make it an animation tag in the screen layers hash in the set up, so that you can add mutiple animated layers to the cursor as well.

On a side note: IT'S GONNA BE A BOY!!! :D

Updated: v0.5 or higher includes cursor animation type tag.

@vinadaca Congratz again! :D

Ok, so I downloaded the demo and ended up making custom menu:

I've encountered a few problems and there are a few things that could be improved.

I've also made a demo of the composition I made by the way. I just felt like it lol. Just to see the potential of this script :p

It can be used as a template for the script.

-Why have two images with diferent names to make 1 looping image?

-The images looping start separating from each other (Check Template. Wait for a little bit until the cloud images loop 2 times and you'll see.)

-Not enough instructions in the comments. (Lucky I know thing or two, or else I would've been completely lost. Try explain more of how to set up the layers and  commands. By commands I mean for instance ":fade_frame_rate". I understood what it is, but if I were to do the layers from scratch I would have no idea what are the commands.)

-The Menu fading out isn't very smooth. I'd rather see soft fade out.

-Some polishing: The wave effect looks a bit odd, and the blending effects could have fade transitions, instead of imidiatly changing.

-Add a Decision SE specific for "New Game" option and maybe for the other two options and the cursor moving aswell?

If I remember something else I'll let you know :)

The rest seems to be excellent. I think this one has pottential to be one of the best title menu scripts :)

Here's the Title Template I made(Updated):

http://www.mediafire.com/download/d42k4w016mv77wj/V%27s+Custom+Title+Demo+-+BustedEd+Template+V1.4.exe

(Anyone can download this Template of this script and use it on their projects.)

Thank you very BustedEd, I wasn't shooting for best title script but good to know at least 1 person thinks so.  :D ... I mean B) Thanks man....

and thank you so much for the great example too. I don't get to see to my script used by someone else that often. It looks great, but you might want to mention the version number.

Also I see what you were takling about with the layers seperating. That problem should have been fixed in the last update though.

My reasoning behind the two layers with different names is pretty easy. when you set up your layers they are in a hash, the name of the image is the hash's key, so if you try to do two layers with the same name it will just rewrite the first images information and not produce a new image. Instead of trying to add in a duped layer in the middle I left it open incase you wanted to do something like I did with the slimes in my demo.

As far as fade and the wave I will work with it some more for fine tuning.

As far as the different sound effects for each command, I think thats another great idea and I will be happy to add that in as well.

No problem :)

Yeah, I'll put the version number. You can use this template for your demo if you want :)

Hm I see, yeah figured it was to have the freedom to put two images looping in the same layer. But cant you do something like - check if more than one image is on the same layer (animation types 3 to 6). If it is, leave the space to add other images. If it's not then loop normally (with only one image). It's just that when you have one image you have to duplicate in order to loop correctly. That means the game will load 2 diferent graphics instead of only one which is wasted memory.

That sounds great! :)

By the way, I forgot to mention. why don't you make the cache folder being Titles1? It just seems more fitting than pictures. Since you'll use pictures in the game and having them mixed with the pictures for this script would make a mess. While the Titles folder would be empty and have no pourpose because you're not using the deault titles.

Either way it is the same amount of memory, wether it's two pictures or one drawn out twice, and the amount of memory is nothing, just bytes(unless you have huge pictures.)

"If it's not then loop normally (with only one image)",

If you only use one image it will not loop right. There will be blank area inbetween the the loop. thta is another reason for the 2 pictures.

Thanks again for the idea but I don't think I'm going to change the scroll set up. For what I needed to do, that was the perfect way of doing it.

Hm ok I see.

You're right. I thought it would affect, but yeah since RM doesn't support high resolutions, big images wouldn't make much sense.

It's not like it takes much effort anyway, since it's just copy and paste basicly x)

I noticed that all the "graphics" don't fade out when you press New Game.

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
