I have been playing around with new ways to do game leveling. One of my ideas that I would like to suggest to the community would require some help getting the scripting out there. Basically you have your stats: Str, Agil, Int, Wis, Luk, etc... all start at a mid value, let's say 50 out of 100. As you level, instead of gaining points arbitrarily, you gain how much you can change your stats by 2 per level. Example would be, As you hit level 2, you can increase your Agil to 52 and lower your Int and Wis by 1 point each. Even add in the option to refund your points.
The end result is the same as you see in any game. Everyone starts off the same, but then you gain a stronger ability while increasing your weakness. This should add a lot of tactics to your games, and remove annoying math from your mob calculations. It also adds more freedom to character customization, which is what really sales to some people. Do I want to make a glass cannon mage, a tanky dodge rogue, or a well rounded melee healer. This lets late game characters enter on even ground as well.
I don't believe this style of leveling has been done before. If it has, I haven't seen it.
