VX Ace not letting me import movies?

I made a movie using Windows Movie Maker to show some end credits. I worked hard on the video, just to show me that VX Ace doesn't allow Movie Maker projects into the movies section. What idiot thought up the idea not to let you import any type of movie file you want!? It's stupid!!!

A simple movie maker project file won't run in anything but Movie Maker. You'd need to render it into the correct format. The only video format that VX Ace supports is OGG Theora, so you'll have to go about converting your video file into that format for it to be able to run in VX Ace.

What idiot thought up the idea not to let you import any type of movie file you want!? It's stupid!!!

Just FYI: there are movie formats where you have to pay for the licence to import those files or use them in your project.

If you want RM to include every video codec in existance, those licencing costs would probably double the price for it.

Do you really want everyone to pay double only to be able to import from any video source instead of making one more step and convert the video into one of the free formats with a free program?

Of course it doesn't play Windows Movie Maker files ... those are native to WMM. That's like complaining about the fact that Microsft Word doesn't open PSD files from Photoshop.


Just convert your video to an actual playable and supported file, which you can find in the help file.
