There is a lot available for both non-commercial and commercial games.

Search the master script list for everything, but at first guess Battle Engine Symphony would be what you want - it has three different add-ons to use the three different variants of battler sprite sheets (Holder's the most commonly used)

But I'm not sure if it has a friendly configuration or not
well, im not actually looking for a sideveiw battle system at the moment, i was looking for a template to make vx style animated battlers right now, you know, like the chibi sprites, but blank templates. Finding a side veiw battle system script is easy, but thank you very much for that link :) . ill be comming back to this latter.

There are several different formats depending on what battlescript you're using.
For example, some sideview battles use the regular moving sprites, no special template needed for them.

Other Battlescripts use holder's sprites - or the less often used 8D-sprites. Battle Engine Symphony for example has different add-on-scripts that will allow you to choose between regular sprites, Holder's sprites and 8D-sprites.

Which means you can't simply look for "a" template, you need to check which of several different templates works with which sideview battlescript, and then choose which one you like best.

Here is a link to Holder's page where you can see his sprites and formats, but they are not compatible with every battlescript out there:

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
