Hello everyone,

I am not sure if this is the correct place, but I figured as we all use MV in this section it might be a good place to start.

MV supports Side View battles and I am in the process of recreating my game from Ace to MV. The game I was working on used Yami's side battles with sprites.

I was wondering would it be possible to utilize those sprites for MV side battles? Stay with me.

There are some plugins I have seen that expand the Side battles of MV to allow for more frames and what not. What I am asking is is there a way to have the ACE sprites work with these systems?

Depends on which sprites you're talking about.

Holder's battlers need to be restructured (they had all poses below each other with usually four animations per pose), MV is organised in three columns of three animations each. But there is a topic on the forum that tells you which of Holder's poses to place into which part of an MV template.

If you're talking about the regular moving sprites - not really good result, but you can make every pose of an MV SV battlersheet out of the left-looking regular spritepose.

Probably better to recreate the sprite in the MV generator anyway.

There are other battlerformats for Ace, but I don't know them enough to give advice for them.

The sprites I am talking about include various sizes. For example the ogre sprite. What size would I have to re-format this too in order to keep it a bigger sprite. I can use paint.net to just copy the 3 frame sprite across all the MV SV frames/animations but I would like to know what dimensions I would have to scale to.

There is no size number for any sprite in any RPG Maker - the spritesheets (no matter walking or battler) are always relative. You could do a one-pixel-sized sprite (with the sheet becoming 3x4 pixels) or a 200x200 pixel sprite (with the sheet becoming 600x800).

That said, the size difference between Ace and MV is 150% for all picture sizes, just scale that way

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
